As a Product Control Associate in our Finance team, you will spend each day defining, refining and delivering set goals for our firm. You will independently and accurately analyze the daily profit and loss (P&L) and risk for the Commodities Trading Desk. You will interact extensively with the Front Office trading desk, Financial Control, Market Risk, and wider support functions. Strong communication skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently without significant supervision are essential.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Review and report daily P&L and Risk
  • Validate and understand daily P&L explains, including Volcker attributions, first order explains, and residual amounts
  • Identify, design, and implement new controls and processes for P&L/Risk production to enhance efficiency and align with Global Product Control standards
  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly P&L commentaries to senior management, explaining P&L in terms of the desk's risk position and economic factors
  • Liaise with Financial Control to investigate and resolve MTD P&L breaks against the ledger and review FX balances
  • Partner with the business to implement robust controls and new business initiatives
  • Drive coordination across various front and back office support functions to ensure accurate and timely resolution of control and reporting issues

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:


  • Work experience within Product Control, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
  • Experience doing P&L and month end close process
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills


  • Team player, with ability to work effectively across diverse functions, locations and businesses
  • Solid understanding of financial products would be advantageous
