As a Commis I specializing in Indian cuisine and tandoor cooking, you will play a crucial role in preparing authentic and delicious dishes while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency in our kitchen.Assist in the preparation of Indian dishes and tandoor specialties under the guidance of senior chefsMaintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations, equipment, and storage areasFollow recipes and cooking techniques precisely to ensure consistency in flavor and presentationProperly handle, store, and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and maintain food safety standardsCollaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service hoursAssist in inventory management and restocking of supplies as neededParticipate in menu development and suggest improvements to existing dishesAdhere to all health, safety, and hygiene regulations in the kitchenQualificationsProven experience (1-2 years) in a professional kitchen, preferably with a focus on Indian cuisineProficiency in Indian cooking techniques, especially tandoor cookingStrong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standardsExcellent knife skills and food preparation abilitiesAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environmentStrong time management and organizational skillsBasic math skills for accurate ingredient measurementsCulinary diploma or equivalent preferredValid food safety certification requiredPhysical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects when necessaryAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPassion for Indian cuisine and commitment to culinary excellenceStrong teamwork and communication skills
