Job Summary


Cloud Hosting is a global program that demonstrates virtualization technology to manage project engineering systems at multiple centers. The Cloud Hosting Centers Engineer L-2 is responsible for Tier 2 activities related to the support of the Worldwide Centralized Engineering Infrastructure in the local CLOUD HOSTING center and remote support of other Cloud Hosting Centers. Tier 2 is the first-line support that handles medium complexity issues and activities such as systems deployment, resolution of support requests and collaborating with other Emerson groups. Activities should be performed following existing documented processes and standards under our ISO 27002:2022 certification.


In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: 


  • Actively participates in a variety of activities of the daily operation, by providing Tier 2 support without assistance
  • Contributes to the creation of solve tasks with varied complexity
  • Contributes to the implementation of solutions with varied complexity including those outside existing standards
  • Participates in developing procedures and support knowledge definition
  • Contributes to the improvement and development of processes and procedures
  • Trains staff on existing processes
  • Examples of activities:
    • Deployment and decommissioning of systems in a virtual environment
    • Resolution of support requests in a virtual environment, including support for Emerson applications and products such as: DeltaV, Syncade, Mimic and Project Data Link
    • Configuration of product templates
    • Execution of backups and restores
    • Quality assurance
    • Root cause analysis
    • Execution of Disaster Recovery
  • Perform deployment of systems in a virtual environment.
  • Ensure resolution of support requests in a virtual environment, including support for Emerson applications and products such as: DeltaV, Syncade, Mimic and Project Data Link. and any other staffing needs and people planning using systems and procedures as laid down by EEEC, in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Superb communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Ready to work in shift roster. (Morning 6 am to 3 pm.)

For This Role, You Will Need:


  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience level in related field.
  • 4+ years’ experience in:
    • VMware vSphere and VCenter
    • MS Windows server OS 
    • Deployment of virtual machines in a large virtual environment
    • Networking (certifications desirable) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Familiar with Emerson Automation Solutions products, processes and standards

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:


  • Knowledge of:
    • vRealize operations standard (vROPs)
    • Basic Networking knowledge. 
    • PowerShell and PowerCLI Scripting skill. 
    • Familiar with ‘Service Now’ Ticketing tool. 
    • Experience using MS SharePoint and MS Teams.
    • Familiar with Global support culture.
