Job Description for Cloud Automation Engineer
Introduction
Adobe is growing its business in the cloud and is looking for engineers to help expand our reach as well as scalability. As a Cloud Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for automating rapid customer deployments into the cloud, partnering with various teams and team members in our global organization and integrating with related key services. We are looking for a senior, full-stack developer who knows Java programming, cloud technologies, configuration management, and automation. You will work with our Cloud Engineers, customer facing engineers and our software development teams to build out our cloud hosting products and their ‘command and control’ tools and environments.
You should have a consistent track record of crafting innovative solutions and designing and automating cloud deployments. We are looking for focused, self motivated individuals to join a dynamic, high-calibre team.
What You’ll Do

- Innovate and build on our solution for creating and running deployments in the cloud. Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions.
- Ensuring solutions meet business needs and requirements.
- Improve continuous integration for the cloud deployment tools and Adobe’s tools & products.
- Design integration points with sales, support, operations and monitoring teams.
- Quickly prototype ideas and concepts.
- Evaluate tools and platforms, carry out comprehensive technical audits, improve strategies, make recommendations and plan implementations.
- Implement standards for coding, configuration management, automation, and implement them across our cloud providers, data centres and non-hosted environments.
- Turn your findings into proven hypotheses and show results that will be relevant. Apply findings across our customer base.
- Conduct design sessions, perform code reviews, document functionality, and expand automated testing.
- Perform analysis of customer code and determine technical improvements to enhance performance based on Adobe best practices and industry standards.
- Apply solutions to customer code and measure/document A-B performance
- Partner with other teams to automate your hypotheses into self-learning software features with the goal of significantly improving website performance, Core Web Vitals, and user experience.
- Lead customer discussions, communicating clear recommendations that align with business goals, while staying up to date with industry-wide trends and innovations.
- Work with design, product, support and testing peers, including on/offshore teams.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Bachelor Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- 6-8 years of software product development experience, with a deep understanding of Java/J2EE and extensive programming experience with platform changes/updates.
- Experience working with RESTful API services (XML/JSON), application/browser layer, CDN layer
- Experience in automation and testing via scripting (e.g. Python) or using DevOps tools
- Familiarity with Linux / Windows, Web Server, Middleware applications & their operations.
- Good understanding of public cloud like AWS and Azure.
- Experience or understanding with long-term operation, monitoring and reporting (New Relic, Nagios, Splunk)
- Good understanding of agile methodologies.
- Very good analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
- Motivation and flexibility - working well in a fast paced, collaborative team environment.
- Passion for innovation, digital marketing, efficiency and quality.
- Demonstrating the skill to influence team members and work closely with them to achieve suitable solutions
Added advantage –
- 1. Familiarity with front end development like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React/Angular. Experience working with web development solutions such as Progressive Web Applications (PWA) and Single-Page Applications (SPA)
- Good understanding in DOM, WCM core components and templates
- Prior experience or understanding with Adobe software such as Experience Manager, Analytics, Target, and Dynamic Media is a big plus
- Knowledge and experience with Real User Monitoring (RUM) tools and analysis.
