Role Purpose:

- This role leads and manages the strategic and operational aspects of the IT function in Asset Management. It also ensures alignment of technology initiatives with business goals
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the IT department, contributing to the organization's efficiency and effectiveness
- Establish/follow appropriate standards and controls and direct the establishment and implementation of processes and procedures as per HSBC group IT governance standards
- Provide leadership and guidance in planning and implementing enterprise information systems to support both distributed and core mutual fund business operations
- Role also includes providing direction for IT-related projects, defining technology standards, and managing IT staffs.
- Also, the designated Head of Technology will be responsible to implement the IT controls mandated by regulator or work along with the security team to implement IT security and Cyber framework as per both local and global guidelines
- Consult with various internal and external stakeholders to implement overall IT governance standards.
Strategic Planning:
·The CTO/ Head of Technology is responsible for developing and implementing IT strategies that align with HSBC group strategies. This includes:
·Collaborating with local/regional/global stakeholders to identify technology needs and opportunities.
·Developing a long-term IT roadmap to support business growth and innovation.
·Establishing IT policies and objectives that promote efficiency and security.
IT Governance:
·Implementing HSBC IT governance structures to manage and monitor IT investments and initiatives.
·Ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and security standards.
·Developing and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and global best practices.
Infrastructure Management:
- Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and networks as per HSBC standards.
- Ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the IT infrastructure as per HSBC standards.
- Planning for and implementing disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
IT Project Management:
- Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Developing detailed project plans, timelines, and resourceallocation.
- Monitoring and controlling project progress to ensure timely and successful delivery
Technical Proficiency
- Network Management: Understanding and expertise in the concepts related to management of networks, including LAN, WAN, and VPN.
- Systems Administration: Understanding and expertise in managing servers, databases, and operating systems.
- Cybersecurity: Strong understanding of security frameworks, encryption methodologies, and threat management.
- Basic understanding of Cloud platforms and SaaS systems.

Major Challenges
- Operating with influence and gravitas across all Lines of Defences within Global Businesses/Functions and Legal Entities within AMIN, in relation to the management and oversight technology risk
- Maintaining a commercial understanding without compromising standards of internal IT governance and control framework and organisational risk appetite in a growing and successful business.
Role Context
Reporting to COO, AMIN from an entity perspective and to Head of MSS India from a functional perspective - the role holder will maintain close working relationships with the wider team such as CISO, Chief Control Office and ORR team locally, regionally, and globally.
Consult with wider IT specialist across various domains, namely: Security, IT architecture and governance
