Job Description
The Centralized Research Group (CRG) collaborates closely with the firm’s Global Investment Banking (GIB), Global Corporate Banking (GCB) and Commercial Banking (CB) teams offering customized financial solutions across Mergers & Acquisitions, Equity / Debt capital raising, Credit, Treasury, Cash Management, Trade, and Markets, among others.
Job Responsibilities
- Preparing marketing materials and deal support: Work with colleagues in Mumbai and across regional locations to prepare marketing materials including company profiles, public information brochures, bulletins, benchmarking analysis, pricing updates, earning summaries, treasury pitching materials, credit analysis and competitor analysis. Also support colleagues across geographies on execution projects
- Analyzing: Understand and learn to analyze a company’s financial statements. Set up trading and transaction comparables, valuation models and financial metric benchmarking for companies
- Researching: Source and interpret company / industry information from a variety of data sources (company reports, Internet, online databases, J.P. Morgan proprietary content). Learn to develop views on specific industries and start tracking them for developments / potential opportunities / new client prospecting
- Covering Industry or Product: Work with colleagues in Mumbai and across regional locations to develop and apply industry / geographic market fundamentals (e.g. impact of economic/market conditions, competitive landscape, risks, trends) for clients across the globe. Also track a set of clients / emerging sectors / product themes with an aim to pitch potential ideas
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Under-graduate degree from a top tier institution with excellent academic record and a strong interest in making a career in finance
- Strong communication skills (written as well as verbal) and an ability to precisely articulate thoughts
- Close attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality output under pressure. Ability to efficiently multi-task and handle multiple deliverables / projects
- Strong team player demonstrating integrity and ability to work with teams across geographies. Pro-active, self-starter and an ability to work independently with minimal guidance
- Strong analytical bent of mind and quantitative skills
- Awareness of banking solutions and services as well as knowledge of analyzing company financials and financial modeling skills in MS Office applications are a plus
- Ensure the highest ethical standards and regulatory compliance within the firm
