Role Description


The Strategic Development Specialist’s role will be part of the Corporate Bank (CB) Strategy team which reports to CB Central. It plays a crucial role in formulating, shaping and communicating the strategic direction of CB and supports the CB management team in executing the CB strategy globally. The CB Strategy team manages critical deliveries ranging from leading the annual Divisional Strategy & Review Process, to supporting internal divisional / Group strategic projects (e.g. competitor benchmarking, client wallets analysis, growth acceleration / prioritization, etc.), to developing materials for external submissions (e.g. investor day, earnings, regulators, ratings agencies, etc.). It also plays a crucial role in maintaining frequent and close alignment across all CB products, regions, central and DB Group functions.


Job Summary: The Strategic Development Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and continuous improvement of the CB Strategy and organizations strategic initiatives. This role requires working closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment between strategy and execution across CB.

Your key responsibilities


  • Strategic Planning
    • Assist in the development of long term organizational strategy
    • Conduct market research, competitive analysis and identify industry trends to inform strategic decisions
    • Collaborate with department heads to align business objectives with the overall corporate strategy
  • Strategy Implementation
    • Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives across various CB departments
    • Track progress of strategic goals, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide periodic updates to senior management
    • Identify and resolve barriers to successful strategy implementation
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment of strategic initiatives with business goals
    • Foster relationships with key partners, including vendors, clients and other third parties, to facilitate strategic partnerships.
  • Project Management
    • Manage multiple cross functional projects that align with the company’s strategy
    • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets for strategic initiatives
    • Ensure strategic initiatives are delivered on time and within scope
  • Data Analysis and Reporting
    • Provide data driven insights and reports to support decision making
    • Prepare presentations, white papers and executive summaries for the leadership team
    • Analyze financial and operational data to assess the impact of strategic initiatives
  • Change Management
    • Lead or support organizational change management initiatives to help the company adapt to new strategic directions.
    • Communicate effectively to drive stakeholder buy in and manage resistance to change
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
    • Identify new business opportunities, emerging technologies, and innovative practices that could enhance the organizations strategic advantage.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and foster innovation within the organization.

Your skills and experience


Qualifications :


  • Education :
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in Business administration, Strategic management, Economics or a related field
  • Experience
    • ~10 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate development, or business consulting
  • Skills
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams
    • Knowledge of strategic frameworks and tools (e.g. SWOT analysis, Porters Five Forces, Balanced Scorecard)
    • Experience in project management and change management
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities

    • High degree of emotional intelligence and cultural awareness
