About the department


Finance GBS in the Global Business Services (GBS) Bangalore was established in 2007 and is responsible for supporting Accounting, Finance & Procurement, Financial Planning & Analytics for various parts of the Novo Nordisk organization worldwide.


You will be part of the Source-to-Contract team which is part of the Finance department in GBS Bangalore. This team is responsible for delivering and supporting global sourcing and category managers with e.g. market research & analyses, supplier management, etc.


Besides being part of the GBS Bangalore Sourcing & Analytics team, you will be part of the Corporate Procurement (CP) team which is based in the Headquarters (Denmark). Corporate Procurement is the central sourcing unit in Novo Nordisk’s Product Supply division and is responsible for the indirect spend in Novo Nordisk and for defining and driving the global procurement strategy.



The Position


As an Analyst – Category Intelligence, the key responsibilities are:


  • Conducting primary and secondary research to gather industry data and intelligence.
  • Market research to identify best-in-class suppliers, industry trends and procurement best practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant sources of information for different spend categories.
  • Ability to curate most appropriate and accurate data points from multiple sources.
  • Demonstrating strong understanding of sourcing and procurement domain knowledge.
  • Assisting category managers in developing category strategies by providing latest market information.
  • Well versed with different negotiations strategies.
  • Reviewing the contracts and establish best-in-class KPIs, SLAs and provisions.
  • Drive & manage multiple category intelligence projects for the indirect spend areas (Marketing, meetings and events, fleet, facilities, etc.).
  • Developing category strategies based on internal spend profile and external market dynamics.
  • Conducting detailed bid analysis to assess the factors driving price variations.
  • Proficient in spend analysis and dashboards creation.

Key Skills-set Requirement and Qualifications 


Below are key skills and qualifications required for this job.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a reputed university. MBA preferred.
  • 6-8 years of experience in procurement/category/market intelligence.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Strategic sourcing, procurement intelligence, spend analytic.
