Job Description

The Cash & Trade Proc Sr Mgr is an intermediate level role responsible for ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time in coordination with the Transaction Services team. The overall objective is to manage the daily operations for a larger Cash and Trade Operations unit, consisting of multiple teams performing related tasks.
Responsibilities:


  • Oversee daily operations for multiple teams and several unit supervisors and ensure teams meet performance and quality expectations.
  • Manage staff resource allocation while assisting with the development and oversight of the budget.
  • Resolve complex and highly variable issues with significant departmental impact.
  • Evaluate performance and make recommendations for training/development, pay increases, hiring, terminations and other personnel actions.
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining workflow standards.
  • Contribute to the objectives of the entire Transaction Services function
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
  • This is an extremely Business & Time critical VP role which encompass senior oversight and traction on several transformation items, risk and controls, digitization initiatives, client centricity, nodal point escalation matters, regulatory engagement for notices, summons and RBI matters, teller management, network evolution, clearing settlement in context of Continuous clearing that is coming up from RBI, Union staff handling and overall governance and administrative purview incl branch transformation and interaction with Sales/Coverage.
  • Branch Head (BH) role is business critical as it includes people management and the BH has to closely function with Regional Cluster Ops Head, Product , Coverage, Sales, Service, Compliance, Legal teams on regular basis.
  • This role reports to Regional Cluster Head for India who is also the APAC Receivables Operation Head at product function level. Branch head as a senior lead has to manage the 4 key pillars of heightened Risk control financial, Productivity, Client franchise and outcome. The BH closely functions with RH on many of the Global/ Regional projects related to Global Network evolution, Platform modernization and Analog reduction. The BH actively engages on Bespoke and Manual item reduction. 
  • This role also requires Branch Head to get involved in legal / fraud related matters, tractions around digital penetration, act as a Nodal point for daily escalations and act as a key transformation point of contact for Branch level transaction banking and transaction TAT improvements including for exception resolution in the overall life cycle of transaction processing. This requires daily engagement with vendor and customer with seamless flow. Branch head has to stay engaged with Clearing vendors for local cheque clearing/ deposits so that they meet the stringent Central Bank timelines for lodgment on a daily basis.
  • Branch head also manages the process controls, interfaces with regulatory authorities like RBI, Income Tax, ED (Enforcement Directorate), Legal court case representations, needs to suitably engage in cross border transactions like export,  import, LOBOPO which are very sensitive and regulatory in nature. The BH also has to review the Concurrent audit report findings and ensure due corrective as applicable.
  • The Branch Head is also responsible for the end-to-end governance of India level Branch Cash Teller and India Clearing Operations which is fully regulatory driven along with all the critical vendors associated with these products and their governance like vendor agreement, costing, onboarding ,TPISA, TPU points, OGM and COB. This role also demands to keep pan India oversight on Teller vault functions including engagement with Partner bank for Cash requirements (burial or withdrawals), has to ensure full governance around teller Sanctions and also look at continuous improvements around CBT teller platform developments with LATAM team incl needed engagement with IA team. The Branch head has to always look at expense reduction initiatives jointly with Product and foster on initiatives to streamline CMS process.
  • Branch serves as the point of contact for the regulator Reserve bank of India (Central bank RBI) & Branch Head acts as the principal point of contact for all regulatory notices, communications, and RBI meetings. Branch is one of the key operational branch for BG (Bank Guarantee) processing, which is very critical and complex product.

Qualifications:


  • 10-15 years of experience in a related senior level role with experience in trade / cash /teller operations and management
  • Proven experience in creating and implementing processes that result in improved business performance.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and analytical skills


Education:


  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
