Job Description
The Cash & Trade Proc Lead Analyst is an intermediate level role responsible for ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time in coordination with the Transaction Services team. The overall objective is to serve as a technical authority and advise on directional strategy of their team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide in-depth and sophisticated analysis when defining problems and proposing solutions
- Serve as technical expert on special projects or assignments for the Cash and Trade Operations team
- Advise on resource management and allocation of work within the team/project
- Manage complex Trade transactions and tasks with effectiveness, efficiency and according to business requirements
- Seek out and provide replies to requests for deliverables with internal and external clients and vendors
- Advise and/or coach new or junior level team members
- Maintain a comprehensive grasp of how business areas collaborate towards achieving business objectives
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- 6-10 years of experience in trade operations in a similar industry
- Effective verbal and written skills
- Effective communication and analytical skills
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in handling Trade transactions in line with ICC rules
Education:
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.
- Extending professional guidance to the Operation Teams and support other business partners on technical aspects of Trade products that includes Letters of Credit, Documentary Collections, Bank to Bank Reimbursements, Guarantees, Standby Letters of Credit etc. based on the relevant ICC publications (UCP-600, ISBP 821, URC-522, URR-725, ISP-98, URDG-758 etc.) .
- To be cognizant of clients requirements and aiding in structuring the complex Trade transactions thereby ensuring adequate risk coverage for the parties involved.
- Undertake responsibility for reviewing, drafting, and execution all types of Guarantees/Standby Letters of Credit, ensure potential risks concerning the wording are raised, either accepted by Legal/Business or mitigated by revision, making sure all ambiguities and contradictions are addressed
- In-depth analysis on structured deals and/or new product offerings, highlighting the risks involved along with the feasible solutions.
- Support the management towards implementation of various global projects and providing advisory to trade operations across Europe/MEA time zone on various transactions referred
- To structure and deliver Trade specific Training to external clients and internal operations teams
