You can be part of that success story.The Capital Project Procurement Lead supports the Group Capital Procurement team and is responsible for leading the overall sourcing process on capital projects under the supervision and guidance of the Project Portfolio Procurement Lead and in accordance with the established respective category strategies and processesYour responsibilities: Lead selection of, and negotiate contract for, Engineering services, EPCM contractor.Ensure the procurement activity for all packages, whether executed by BU or nominated EPCM contractor, are conducted in a competitive and transparent manner and in accordance with project delivery requirements and JM policies.Drive procurement of critical & high value packages in a timely manner, negotiating cost savings and mitigating supply risk on the project.Support supplier selection, following a standard purchasing approach (quality, total cost, delivery time, innovation, avoid single sourcing, promote standardization).Sharing barriers and key information with BU Procurement leadership as well as Group Procurement category leaders.Supporting the Supplier Sustainability Development Programme to ensure supplier complies with Johnson Matthey requirements for sustainability and ethical corporate behaviour and assist in managing supply chain risks.Provide timely warning to BU senior management, and relevant internal customers, on supplier quality management issues highlighting serious concerns or likely impact on customers.Work collaboratively with BU and Group Procurement to ensure appropriate supplier performance management plans are in place.Monitor performance of suppliers and support Project Managers mitigate project risk.Provide regular reporting to both the project team and Group Procurement Global Category LeaderRequirements for the role: 7-10 years’ experience within a project Procurement role in chemical, oil & gas, life science industry.Experience capital project procurement management gained within industrial /construction projects.Knowledge and experience in managing major engineering/contractor firms, as well as construction subcontractor base.Knowledge of quality standards, tools and processes.Understanding of IChemE & FIDIC type contract templates.Strong negotiation skills.Demonstrable experience in successfully leading and conducting contract negotiation across technical, commercial, and legal areas.Business or Technical Bachelors Degree or MCIPS.How you will be rewarded: We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package including bonus, excellent pension contributions and generous annual leave.  At JM, an inclusive culture is integral to our values and ambitions for the future.
