Job DescriptionPurpose of the roleTo execute metadata, data lineage & data quality controls documentation and assessment of authoritative data sources, to conform to the requirements of the Group Data Management Policy & Standards. AccountabilitiesImplementation of Group Data Management Standards, Attestation, Re-certification and Assurance processes.Capture and documentation of subject matter knowledge about Critical Data Elements (CDE), how these data points flow through the company’s technology stack (Lineage) and where appropriate Data Quality Controls (DQC) exist.Logging and agreement of remediation of control gaps where Data Quality Controls (DQC) don’t exist or are found to be ineffective.Data lineage interlock implementation and support to other CDO BUs/Functions.Support of Trusted Source Assessments (TSAs) for agreed authoritative data sources.Root cause analysis and define solutions linked to major and critical data issues.Assistant Vice President ExpectationsConsult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.Communicate complex information. This role you will review Finance Control, Consolidation & Reporting requests and support the resolution of issues and changes to take future actions when required, driving collaboration, innovation, and excellence. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as experience with tools like SAP, Barclays Consolidation Engine, INFoRM, RDM, DRM, SQL, Alteryx, Power BI, JIRA, Confluence as well as job-specific skillsets like knowledge of IFRS standards and Barclays Statutory and FinRep Reporting.To be successful as BX Data Operations AVP, you should have experience of working in an Agile environment, strong analytical skills, and good attention to details. You may be assessed on the key critical skills, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and technology, as well as job-specific technical and functional skills.Basic/ Essential Qualifications:Graduate / Postgraduate / MBA with experience in Finance, Operations and Technology.International/ Industry Certifications in relevant areas will have added advantage. Senior RoleDesirable skillsets* Risk and Control experience, prior engagement with KPMG/CCO/BIA streams in Barclays.* Reference Data Management, Consolidation and Reporting and knowledge of Retail Banking Source Systems/Platforms/Data Journey.* Understand the Barclays Mindset of an Individual contributor.This role will be based out of Chennai.
