Business Ops Manager, ASCI Variable HC

Alexa is the voice activated digital assistant powering devices like Amazon Echo, Echo Dot, Echo Show, and Fire TV, which are at the forefront of this latest technology wave. To preserve our customers’ experience and trust, the Alexa Sensitive Content Intelligence (ASCI) team creates policies and builds services and tools through Machine Learning techniques to detect and mitigate sensitive content across Alexa. We are looking for an operations manager to manage an operations team handling AI backend operation.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the execution of critical backend operations that support our AI initiatives, with workstreams such as data labelling audits and prompt improvements. You will drive operational excellence, ensuring that all processes are optimized for efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing cross-functional teams, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with product, engineering, and policy teams to ensure alignment with organizational goals while continuously identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation.
Key job responsibilities
• Data Compilation and Management: Develop and organize data sets intended for various testing purposes.
• Review and Audits: Conduct audits to ensure accuracy, including extracting relevant information based on specified criteria.
• Quality Assurance: Offer feedback and recommendations to enhance the precision of data-related processes.
• Data Handling: Enter, manage, and organize large volumes of data with a focus on accuracy and ease of retrieval for use in AI-related activities.
• People Management : Handling hiring, training and performance evaluation
• Provide guidance and mentorship within your org
• Develop employee skill set to expand the team capabilities and provide growth opportunities
• Process Metrics : Ensure high quality and high volume productivity
Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
5+ years of experience in managing backend operations
Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving operational excellence.
Experience in process optimization, automation, and quality assurance.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of AI technologies and their operational requirements.
