We are seeking a highly motivated Business Logic Developer I to join our organization and play a pivotal role in creating seamless end-to-end customer journeys. The selected individual will be part of the Case Lite Intermediate Case (CLIC) Product Organization, which aims to deliver a best-in-class case management experience for our customers, merchants, and customer care professionals. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including Pega, Java, Python, ReactJS, and explore the transformative potential of Generative AI (GenAI) to optimize processes and drive innovation. As part of a passionate team, you will play a crucial role in driving global standardization, development, and enhancement of complex case types and process workflows, ensuring unparalleled operational excellence across the Global Servicing Group (GSG) at American Express.


How will you make an impact in this role?


This role is responsible for understanding and translating complex business requirements into scalable and secure technical solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, develop workflows, and deploy high-quality software while continuously improving processes. The role will also involve testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining the resilience and security of applications within our enterprise case management platform. As a collaborator with Product Owners, Technology Partners, and key Business Stakeholders, your work will directly contribute to delivering transformative value and superior customer experiences.


Job Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure workflows and applications using Pega, Java, Python, SQL, and Spring.
  • Leverage Generative AI (GenAI) to innovate and enhance coding practices, testing strategies, and customer journey solutions.
  • Partner with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders to align technical deliverables with strategic business goals.
  • Analyze complex business requirements, implement efficient solutions, and optimize data handling using SQL and BigQuery.
  • Perform thorough unit, system, and regression testing; troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure reliability and resilience.
  • Actively engage in Agile practices, including program increment planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to deliver iterative and collaborative results.
  • Ensure adherence to secure software development lifecycle principles and maintain documentation for workflows and configurations.
  • Utilize monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack to maintain application health and identify areas for improvement.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, exploring tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and Big Data technologies to build resilient systems.

Minimum Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of hands-on development experience in a professional setting.
  • Proficiency in Pega development, including designing workflows and case management. Pega CSA, CSSA, or CLSA certifications are highly desirable.
  • Experience with Java, Python, SQL, Spring, and front-end frameworks like ReactJS for building dynamic user interfaces.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS and tools like BigQuery and Big Data technologies.
  • Familiarity with GitHub, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps principles.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and tools, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Informatica.
  • Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Experience with secure software development lifecycles and incorporating Generative AI to optimize coding and testing workflows.
  • Certifications such as Java SE Programmer, AWS Certified Developer, or Google Professional Data Engineer are a plus.
