Position Overview:We are looking for an analytical and detail-oriented Business Analyst - Master & Reference Data Expert in Banking/Finance to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and improving Reference Data processes and architectures while ensuring alignment with data standards. This role will involve engaging with cross-functional teams to enhance data quality and support business operations.
Overall Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate current and future state Reference Data processes and architectures, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Citi operations, technology, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to Citi Data Standards.
- Analyze data models to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement across various data sources and targets, documenting findings.
- Participate in data cleanup initiatives and track the status of data capture, storage, and consumption.
- Assist with Business As Usual (BAU) data management processes across the data lifecycle, including documentation, testing validation, maintenance, and change management.
- Research authoritative external sources of Reference Data and manage updates to Reference Data sets in collaboration with information owners and technology partners.
- Monitor compliance with Master and Reference Data governance requirements and facilitate the resolution of issues related to data usage and quality.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to define success metrics, develop visualizations, and create analytics to support data-driven decision-making.
Technical Skills:
- Data Analysis:Proficient in analyzing data models and identifying patterns and inconsistencies across various data sources.
- Data Management:Experience in Master and Reference Data domains, such as Party/Customer, Account, and Product data management.
- Documentation Skills:Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to data processes and governance.
- Microsoft Applications:Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and presentation purposes.
- Project Management:Familiarity with project management principles and experience managing data-related projects.
Experience:
- 6+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably within the banking or finance industry.
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth analysis and develop innovative solutions to complex problems.
- Experience in managing successful projects with a focus on optimizing work processes.
Day-to-Day Activities:
- Review and assess the effectiveness of current Reference Data processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with data standards and governance requirements.
- Conduct data quality assessments, participate in data cleanup efforts, and track progress.
- Prepare and present findings, metrics, and visualizations to stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure clarity and understanding of data issues.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively in non-technical terms to various levels of the organization.
Soft Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and balance competing priorities effectively.
- Proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and process optimization.
- Adaptability to changes in requirements and ability to work under tight deadlines.
