Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and creative Bakery & Pastry Chef specializing in sandwich making and sauce preparation to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in baking artisan bread, crafting high-quality pastries, and preparing a variety of fresh, flavorful sandwiches with unique, house-made sauces.
· Key Responsibilities:
- Baking & Pastry Production:
- Prepare high-quality artisan breads, buns, croissants, and other baked goods suitable for sandwiches.
- Ensure consistency in texture, taste, and presentation of baked items.
- Experiment with new bread and pastry recipes to enhance the menu.
- Sandwich & Sauce Preparation:
- Develop and assemble a variety of gourmet sandwiches, ensuring fresh and high-quality ingredients.
- Prepare and perfect house-made sauces, dressings, and condiments that enhance sandwich flavors.
- Innovate new sandwich recipes and seasonal offerings based on market trends.
- Kitchen Operations & Quality Control:
- Maintain high hygiene and food safety standards in compliance with health regulations.
- Ensure efficient kitchen workflow, minimizing waste while maintaining quality.
- Monitor ingredient inventory and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaboration & Customer Experience:
- Work closely with the culinary team to develop menu items that align with the concept.
- Train and guide kitchen staff in proper techniques for sandwich assembly and sauce preparation.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by maintaining excellent food quality and presentation.
Skills
- Qualifications & Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Bakery & Pastry Chef, preferably with expertise in sandwich making and sauce preparation.
- Strong knowledge of bread baking techniques, fermentation, and pastry skills.
- Ability to create unique, flavorful sandwiches and handcrafted sauces.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Creativity and passion for culinary innovation.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or certification in baking, pastry arts, or culinary arts.
- Experience working in a café, bakery, or fine dining establishment.
