Job Description

Role: Automation Product Owner (ServiceNow)

Location: Kharadi, Pune

Automation Product Owner is responsible for defining, leading, and implementing automation strategies across the Global Business Services (GBS) functions. Expanding from an initial focus on ServiceNow automation, this role will drive automation initiatives across multiple platforms and business processes. The role will collaborate with partners to enhance user experiences, optimize workflows, and introduce AI driven capabilities to improve efficiency and service management.


What will you be doing?


  • Automation Strategy & Roadmap: Develop and implement a comprehensive automation roadmap across GBS functions, aligning with business objectives and future technology trends.
  • ServiceNow & Cross-Platform Automation: Expand automation capabilities beyond ServiceNow, integrating automation solutions across Source-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, HR Services, Finance, and other key business areas.
  • AI & Intelligent Automation: Drive the adoption of generative AI, document intelligence, and conversational AI driven chatbots to enhance decision-making and user interactions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Governance: Work closely with business leaders, IT, and process owners to identify automation opportunities, establish governance models, and ensure alignment with corporate strategy.
  • Product Ownership & Research: Conduct product research, facilitate automation workshops, and evaluate emerging technologies to continuously improve automation capabilities.
  • Integration & Unified Experiences: Lead initiatives to connect systems across GBS environments, enabling seamless automation and reducing customization through Out-of-the-Box (OOTB) solutions.
  • KPI Measurement & Reporting: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of automation initiatives on service quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure automation solutions align with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to data security and governance.
  • Team Expansion & Leadership: Build and mentor an automation-focused team, fostering collaboration and driving innovation within GBS and IT teams.
  • Process Optimization: Partner with process owners to redesign workflows, reduce manual efforts, and improve operational efficiency across global functions.

What will you need to be successful?


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business, IT, Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred or should have equivalent experience.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA), ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) or other advanced ServiceNow certifications preferred.
  • Relevant certifications in ITIL, project management (e.g., PMP), or business analysis (e.g., CBAP) are advantageous
  • Should have a min 5-7+ years of relevant experience in automation, digital transformation, or product ownership roles.
  • Experience in System integration and automation with larger internal Systems like ERPs etc. with ServiceNow or other automation products.
  • Should have an experience in analysing the business requirements and propose a solution with Automation.
  • Should have a good understanding of ERP – SAP, MS Axapta, AI, etc. along with ServiceNow and other tools.
  • Demonstrable understanding of ServiceNow, RPA, AI/ML driven automation, and system integrations.
  • Strong Business understanding and Business process Knowledge required.
  • Should have superb interpersonal skills, and proven partner management skills.
