Job Description: Automation Engineer – Energy Management and Analytics


Job Level: Individual Contributor


Position: Automation Engineer


Department: Energy Management and Analytics


Remote Work/ Work from Home: Hybrid (Office – Min. 3 days/ week)


Schedule: Full Time


Customer Visits/ Travelling Frequency: Yes/ Medium


Experience: 8+ years


Location: Kalwa, Mumbai


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the execution of automation projects related to energy management and analytics.
  • Design, develop, and implement automation solutions using Siemens PLCs (S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500) for energy monitoring and control systems.
  • Configure, program, and troubleshoot Siemens SCADA systems, including TIA Portal and WinCC V7.x/V8.
  • Integrate various communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, OPC UA, Profinet, etc., for seamless data acquisition and equipment communication.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for PLC and SCADA systems, ensuring efficient operation of energy management systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and execute energy efficiency projects, focusing on optimizing energy usage and performance.
  • Conduct system testing, validation, and commissioning for new installations and retrofits.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including user manuals, system architecture, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Continuously stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in automation and energy management.

Qualifications and Skills:


  • Experience                                      : 8+ years in automation engineering with a focus on energy management systems.
  • PLC Expertise                                 : Strong hands-on experience with Siemens PLCs (S7-300, S7-400, S7-1200, S7-1500) in programming, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • SCADA Systems                              : Proficient in Siemens SCADA systems (TIA Portal, WinCC V7.x/V8).
  • Communication Protocols          : In-depth knowledge of communication protocols like Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU, OPC UA, Profinet, and other relevant protocols.
  • Energy Management                    : Experience in executing energy management jobs, including energy audits, monitoring, and control system implementation, is a strong advantage.
  • Problem-Solving                            : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in automation systems and energy optimization.
  • Communication Skills                  : Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Certifications                                  : Relevant certifications in Siemens automation and energy management systems would be an added advantage.

Preferred:


  • Experience in energy efficiency projects or energy analytics solutions.
  • Knowledge of energy standards, regulations, and carbon reduction initiatives.
