About the Role:


As the Procurement Manager you will be responsible for purchasing raw material, parts and consumables for factory manufactured light commercial/commercial applied air-conditioning & refrigeration products, both locally and internationally. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in procurement, with in-depth knowledge of HVAC systems and components, and will be skilled in managing supplier relationships, procurement through ERP system, inventory management, and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Procurement of Parts and Components:


    • Make material requirement planning backed-up through ERP & Excel working. Need hands on experience of procurement processes-forecasting, material planning, ordering, scheduling and tracking of material/parts required for air conditioning and refrigeration systems.


    • Collaborate with the PPC, Manufacturing team and quality for required components.


  • Vendor Management:


    • Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with both local and international suppliers.


    • Contracts management for commodities, pricing, delivery terms, and payment conditions to achieve the best value.


    • Ensure supplier compliance with company standards, quality expectations, and regulatory requirements.


  • Import and Local Sourcing:


    • Manage import processes including documentation, customs clearance, and freight logistics for international procurement.


    • Coordinate with local vendors to ensure timely delivery and availability of parts, considering lead times and market conditions.


    • Work closely with freight forwarders and customs for smooth import operations.


  • Cost Optimization and Budgeting:


    • Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality by identifying alternative suppliers and products.


    • Monitor market trends, prices, and industry developments to ensure competitive pricing.


  • Supply Chain Management:


    • Collaborate with internal teams (production, Engineering, Finance and logistics) to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.


    • Ensure that all materials and parts are delivered on time to meet production schedules.


    • Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid shortages or overstock situations.


  • Compliance and Risk Management:


    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, local laws, and international trade regulations.


    • Assess risks related to supplier performance, market volatility, and geopolitical factors, and develop mitigation strategies.


  • Reporting and Documentation:


    • Prepare and maintain procurement reports, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.


    • Function presentations in power point, MIS etc.


    • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as Inventory, E & O, supplier performance, and lead times.


  • Initiatives:


    • Drive initiatives on Cx/Lean Manufacturing / ISO 9001:2015/ISO14000 etc.


    • Ability to execute engineering changes and new product launches by ensuring timely transitions of inventories.


    • Assessment of supplier capacity and ability to manage demand variation


Minimum Requirements:


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A focus on Mechanical or HVAC Engineering is a plus.


  • Experience: 5-7 years of procurement experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, with a proven track record of local and import parts buying.


  • Procurement Skills: Expertise in vendor management, supply risk assessment, inventory management and planning & procurement of material in right quantity, at right time, at optimized cost.


  • Basic knowledge of PPAP documents, LEAN, Milk-run, VMI & Kitting Tools.


  • Import/Export Knowledge: Familiarity with customs regulations, import/export documentation, and logistics for international procurement.


  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze inventory, dormant, E & O, forecast & planning, measure supplier’s performance on deliveries, quality & cost etc.


  • Software Proficiency: Experience with ERP systems and procurement software such as SAP or equivalent. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, power point is required.


  • Communication & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.


  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
