We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join the<INM COO/DBS> team.
The Jobholder operates within the operational guidelines laid down in FIM, Internal procedure manuals, audit requirements, Bank circulars, department procedures, rules and regulations. Safeguarding the Bank’s integrity and credibility, maintaining professional conduct and transparency are important disciplines.
Responsible for the continual assessment of operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating procedures and practices, management restructuring and the impact of new technology.
Job Introduction and Principal Responsibilities
- Be the 1LOD SPOC for governance and oversight on implementation of regulatory and other authority circulars/ notifications/ developments. (including NPCI driven) Ensure adherence to the bank’s governance process framework on regulatory developments.
- Oversee the implementation of all the circulars/ notifications/ developments for WPB and other control owners and Risk Stewards.
- Identify at risk instances and ensure prompt escalation to Senior Management to avoiding overdue status / breach in timelines.
- Assess inputs received from the teams and provide regular updates into the governance forums and other monitoring forums of the bank. Prepare updates to support managers attending the governance forums.
- Engage and intervene / co-ordinate with relevant control owners, control functions and risk steward to address any differences, road blocks towards timely adherence. Facilitate interpretation and resolution as required.
- Assist in identifying potential compliance deficiencies related to assigned regulation(s), regulatory requirements and/or risks related to any new or change in existing Regulatory guidelines received.
- Support the teams by monitoring that their control descriptions or continuous monitoring is strengthened with the requisite checks post the deployment of the circulars / notifications/ developments.
- Manage all activities related to regulatory and other authority circular / notification / development implementation including RBS (Risk Based Supervision) Tranche submissions.
- Support the second level self attestation of NPCI circulars as checker post ensuring that business has conducted necessary due diligence. Any material delays are appropriately escalated and carries Risk Steward / Unit Head concurrence.
- Manage any internal or external 1LOD, 2LOD reviews or 3LOD audits related to the implementation, oversight and governance of all areas/ activities under this role.
- Provide support / back up to the regulatory risk & control team within the CCO team on areas managed such as regulatory reporting, ad-hoc indents, annual regulatory inspection indent management, communication with regulators/ authorities / bodes.
- Discharge the accountabilities set out in the FIM by pro-actively assisting management in identifying and containing compliance and other relevant risks, monitoring, reporting and certification, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators related to implementation of regulatory guidelines.
- Deliver fair outcomes for our customers and ensure own conduct maintains the orderly and transparent operation of financial markets.
