Job Summary
As an Associate, within the US payroll team you will be responsible to manage the delivery of payroll services, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of payroll work streams, managing timelines, budgets, and quality to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Continuously improve and update payroll processes to facilitate efficient execution, including the potential for offshore processing without compromising quality.
- Provide expertise in US payroll regulations and systems to lead and support the team effectively.
- Oversee end-to-end test management, including the creation of test strategies, plans, and cases, automation scripting, defect and gap analysis, and leakage analysis.
- Manage business user expectations and ensure clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide sign-off for changes to be promoted to production, ensuring all necessary criteria are met.
- Resolve escalated risks, assumptions, and issues, ensuring they are managed effectively.
- Generate comprehensive reports summarizing progress, execution, and results.
- Adhere to the bank’s internal processes, including configuration management, change control, and access to data and systems.
- Actively seek and implement process improvements across the project.
- Coordinate delivery management through vendors and internal entities such as data centers and development teams.
- Maintain a basic understanding of the risk structures around payroll processes, including operational, compliance, market, and other risks.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 10 + experience in payroll management, particularly in managing US payroll processes
- Strong expertise in payroll regulations and process improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage risks and resolve issues effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Experience working with offshore teams and vendors
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Payroll Professional)
