Role description:
We are now recruiting talented individuals to fill our current vacancy for Associate Technical Director – Instrumentation and Control Systems (ANA Projects) to work on our projects.
 


Role accountabilities:
Managing selected projects or components of projects, taking responsibility for quality assurance and client feedback and ensuring effective communication of any changes/modifications


  • Providing technical advice to project team members
  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which responsible, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies
  • Working independently as well as with a team on various projects in line with client requirement.
  • Supervising the design team and ensure the project is delivered with high quality within the program and budget.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with clients on projects.
  • Liaising with the Project Director or Manager and the client to keep informed of all developments associated with the project.
  • Assisting in developing team members to their full potential. 
  • Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager.
    Required Competencies: 
     
  • Maintain and extend a sound theoretical approach to the application of technology in Instrumentation and Control Automation engineering practice.
  • Experience in Water and Wastewater Industry
  • Coach and mentor engineering professionals to support the development of Arcadis’ talent pool.
  • Sound technical knowledge, academically good.
  • Have recognized expertise in a professional discipline with a well-established industry network.
  • Familiar with American standards, BS codes, ISA and IEC standards
  • Proven design experience; including concept, preliminary, detailed, and construction phases
  • A strong, self-motivated, and assertive person capable of working under pressure. 
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Flexible to adopt new work /challenge work as per business requirements. 
  • Consistent proven track record of securing work from the lead region
     

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:


  • Take a leadership role with the project team, providing direction and leading by example where appropriate.
  • Lead teams and develop staff to meet changing technical and managerial needs.
  • Manage quality processes.
  • Plan, direct and control tasks, people and resources.
  • Manage the delivery of projects in accordance with Management Systems to meet time, quality, budgetary and health and safety targets.
  • Able to provide input to estimates for the engineering budget and schedule and oversee technical resources to meet requirements on large, complex projects.
  • Build strong working relationships with technical disciplines, Arcadis offices.
  • Create opportunities to implement new digital approaches on projects
  • Coordinate and manage project teams and large size projects of single discipline engineers or mid - large size multi disciplinary project teams, ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and good communication and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues.
  • Perform independent technical review for projects of moderate complexity.
  • Develop and maintain E&I standards, procedures, and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Compliance of Arcadis business management system.
  • Promote continuous improvement in "Safe by Design"
  • Create opportunities to implement new digital approaches on projects.
  • Design and Management Knowledge with using of SPI_Intools, Plant 3D, Instrucal design software.
  • Prepares the technical documentation for instrumentation and systems requisitions and performs the technical evaluations.
  • Liaison with other team members to produce good design solutions as per the best design practice.
  • Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design.
  • Building a profile in the industry and keeping up to date with innovations and developments.
  • Compliance of Arcadis business management system.
  • Health & Safety Management.

Qualifications & Experience:
M.E / B.Tech in Instrumentation from a recognized University.


  • 15+ experience in the design of Instrumentation and Control systems associated with the Water industry. 
  • Proven Experience in international projects
  • Have relevant experience including leadership of the development and implementation of engineering solutions.
  • Working in a project management role, have project management experience.
  • Have achieved Chartership with UK / PE is an added advantage
