Job Description

We are looking for to recruit an Systems Engineer for the NOVUS-CM, within the Content Platforms Business Unit of Thomson Reuters.


The Systems Engineer will do build, deploy, manage, develop and support the various projects in the Team.  This position requires an individual who can successfully work in a dynamic work environment where priorities change based on current business needs.  Deadline driven project assignments and our iterative approach to DevOps processes require a professional with good communication skills. Ideal candidates for this position must have working experience with Enterprise Java/python, GitHub/ADO, AWS, containerization, basic administration and monitoring on Linux, Bash scripting, artifactory, Agile methodology and application server configuration. A desire to investigate and evaluate new technologies and methods will be highly valued.


About the role:


  • Professional experience with AWS CI/CD pipeline configuration and maintenance.
  • Automate the build/deployment process using Jenkins and BASH/python script.
  • Software delivery, process automation, tools integration, SCM methodologies, continuous delivery and building servers.
  • Using and maintaining version control systems (GitHub/ADO).
  • Experienced with Agile processes (ADO board, JIRA, Kanban, SCRUM, etc.)
  • Support various environment with builds, stable environment and troubleshooting.
  • Engage and collaborate with various team including infrastructure and support team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • good knowledge and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) & capable to learn new technologies and systems.
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, agile based environment.

About you:


  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in an enterprise level.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure as code.
  • Previous professional software development experience preferred but not required (Previous Internship and/or full-time employment).
  • Experience working with object-oriented programming languages (python, java).
  • Experience working with LINUX/Unix operating system (RHEL preferred).
  • Experience in using containers (e.g. Docker) and container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes/ECS).
  • Experience in AWS tools like stacks, CloudFormation, EC2, S3, cloud monitoring,
  • good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Good to have Experience migrating applications to AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Self-motivated and self-directed.
  • Dynamic thinker, a problem solver.
  • Certifications in AWS/containers preferred.
  • Good to have experience in migrating the infrastructure from on-prem to cloud.
