Role description:

Role accountabilities:


  • The Candidate shall bear, 
    • an exhaustive experience, not less than 6+ years in developing ‘sustainable drainage scheme’ under a multi-disciplinary environment for major infrastructure projects like airports, highways, rail networks, site developments for multiple land usage patterns, etc., 
    • Experience on ‘design management’ & ‘project management’ activities
    • credits for having successfully delivered the drainage projects for the USA region.
    • high recognition in the field & with the client 
  • The candidate should 
    • have able managed the project deliveries independently being part of designs from Concept to Construction stage. 
    • have experience in the quality standards (application of Quality Management Protocols) and program timelines. 
    • possess a knowledge & application of relevant British Standards
    • have awareness of construction in drainage field and latest technologies, equipment, etc., for the construction, maintenance & management of proposed system
    • have been part of risk assessment and mitigative measures.
    • have good experience in 
      • Design software’s like Storm CADD/Civil Storm/ Open Road (Drainage), HECRAS, HY8, Flow Master, Culvert Master, Ponds Pack, MicroDrainage Info Drainage 12D or other relevant drainage design software’s and its’ applications,
      • BIM Software – Civil 3D and AutoCad. Infraworks and Navisworks would be added advantage. 
      • output from the software & its analyses 
      • developing drainage scheme in par with SHE aspects
      • flood mitigative measures
    • possess experience in liaison/communication skills to manage clients/project team.
    • knowledge of working under Common Data Environment, digital aspects/BIM applications in the project
    • have guided/mentored/supported the team to enhance professional/personal strengths of team & the resources

Key Responsibilities


As Senior Engg, provide


  • support in, 
    • developing design as per the standards
    • leading a drainage team and managing project deliveries 
  • to lead projects proactively, independently driving project deliveries
  • undertake discussions with lead regions, GEC team 
  • demonstrate the technical command as an independent problem-solver 
  • involve in 
    • Risk assessments and suggest risk mitigative measures, 
    • Program reviews/ updating UK for any refinements
    • Developing bondage with Lead regions and junior teammates
    • Enhance the capability of the team to attract new business
    • achieving 100% quality (processes/training/checklists)
    • Share knowledge & engage in transferring the knowledge gained to the wider team 
    • implementation of industry best practices on project deliveries 
    • delegating tasks and assigning roles to team members to achieve the agreed project and organizational outcomes.
    • TRACK to 0 and drive the HS&W culture of the business within your team.
    • Global/GEC Initiatives of Arcadis e.g Base camp/Digital Initiatives/CSR Activitie/H&S activities, Arcadis Way, Task Manager Training

Required Specific Competencies 


  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team; USA Project Work exposure
  • Should have exposure to designing Sustainable Drainage systems, ponds/swales, flow control fixtures or structures, flood analyses, Hazard Identification and remedial aspects, 
  • Confidence to work independently with good influencing/motivating, delegating skills.
  • Good Communication both written, verbal
  • Experience in developing drainage designs based on British/Regional Council standards
  • Have a good knowledge of Software Applications like Storm CADD/Civil Storm, Open Road (Drainage), HECRAS, HY8, Flow Master, Culvert Master, Ponds Pack, MicroDrainage Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, Info works, Civil 3D storm sewer applications (preferably exposure in, Civil 3D application)  
  • Knowledge of BIM, digital application and shall support/assist in automation and system improvement.
  • Designing, Evaluating, Hydraulic Scheme for Storm Collection Network and Disposal system featuring various hydraulic assets using software to suit UK customary standards/process
  • Knowledge on alternatives to optimise the storm drainage schemes
  • Project Set up, Project finance controls, QMS protocols
  • CADD application, drawing productions, Reviews/Markup to ensure error free submissions
  • Federated model analyses, Clash Resolutions,Knowledge to work in CDE environment
