Job Description


Role summary:


  • Ares is currently searching for a highly motivated, detail-oriented team player to join as an Associate in the Secondaries team specializing in Investor Relations.


  • This position will be responsible to work closely with investment professionals to provide written and oral communications with existing and potential investors, market and competitor research and analysis, and investor presentation support.


Primary responsibilities:


  • Responding to a broad range of client requests for both commingled funds and separately managed accounts


  • Producing quarterly portfolio reports and letters for investors, working with Finance and Portfolio Management teams to collate relevant data


  • Driving process for creating responses to investor questionnaires, due diligence, and ad hoc requests for existing and potential clients


  • Taking on ad hoc projects and support all other teammates with their work as needed


  • Creating and edit marketing investor materials for co‐investment and funds


Experience Required:


  • MBA / CA / Graduate + CFA with 4 to 8 years of experience working on a investor relations or product specialist role or alternatively someone with a background in credit / private equity / secondaries looking to make a move into a marketing focused role.


General Requirements:


  • Detail oriented


  • Experience with asset management systems or other relational databases


  • Experience at a regional, national, or global financial services firm


  • Self-starter, exceptional communication and organizational skills necessary


  • Ability to work independently as well as with “the team”


  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and computer literacy


  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook
