What is the role:
The role of the Associate Engineer – Maintenance is part of a team that provides remote support for Maintenance Execution, Turn around & related AMS processes. The TAO teams are located across 4 locations: Chennai, Manila, Cyberjaya and Krakow.
What we expect from you:
Technical Expertise
Primary responsibility in preparing/developing maintenance & turnaround work planning/work packs, task lists, work instructions and maintenance procedure for preventive/corrective maintenance of mechanical, rotating and static equipment
Expertise to set rules for optimization and grouping work by routes, bundling opportunities, geographic consideration and planning & scheduling opportunities.
Expertise to perform resource balancing, grouping of activities based on task and location.
Expertise in levelling of preventive maintenance with Turnaround/Campaign Maintenance/IAPS.
Provide ME/TA Process, mechanical, rotating and static equipment maintenance and troubleshooting related training to relevant staff.
Collaborate with ME/TA SMEs, GPOs, Asset and P&T Technical Authorities in developing work instructions, standards, procedures etc.,
Support the team in developing scope.
Operational Delivery
Support in developing detailed Work pack including Drawings, Spare part list, Operation manual, identify long lead time material, Isolation requirement etc. as per Shell AMS ways of working and SOP’s.
Constantly engage with asset maintenance specialist, original equipment manufacturers, vendors and modify work packs as per asset requirements.
Support to develop Process workflow between asset based and TAO based Planners.
Support to develop Process workflow raising engineering queries for TAO based Planners which require site walk down or unclear with Z1 notifications.
Optimize Equipment Care Plan by finalizing the task, frequency, work hrs and performance standard applicability.
Identify & assign right spares at task level.
Responsible for Work preparation steps included in Task list (like scaffolding, Insulation, isolation, permit requirements)
Support Flange Connection Management (FCM) activities
Ensure that the team delivers on time, with required quality control and continuous improvement.
Perform regular quality checks.
Support Digital Twin use cases to perform effective & efficient Maintenance execution (like Scaffolding, lifting plan, critical spare details, isolation plan in the work basket etc.)
Support SAP deployment team in Job Aid preparation for PM transactional business process.
Provide advice for resolving technical and quality issues in ME/TA delivery as well as for making continuous improvements (efficiency, simplification, standardization etc.).
Coaching, Migration, Quality, Talent & Competence management
Support with Deployment and Capability leads in managing various activities related to Migrations, Quality Assurance & Talent Development.
Coach higher order critical thinking, brainstorming and decision-making skills to all involved. Assist the team leads to embed networking and virtual working skills to the staff.
Support the development the maintenance competencies within the team
Ensure compliance
Ensure that activities are executed in line with Shell’s policies and standards. (Data privacy/protection, HSSE&SP, DEP, AMS processes & others).
Key experience and qualifications:
Preferably a university degree holder in Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering with minimum 2 years of work experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of mechanical, rotating machines and static equipment of Oil & Gas or any equivalent Industries.
Experience in Erection & commissioning would be an added advantage.
Sound understanding of the production/operations & maintenance processes.
Experience with work preparation or maintenance planning/ scheduling is essential.
Experience working with multi-discipline & multi-cultural teams in a virtual environment.
Experience of implementing change & continuous improvement projects.
Experience in SAP PM, as well as strong experience with MS Excel and MS access is desirable
Able to demonstrate in depth technical knowledge & required skill sets for the role.
Able to proactively manage stakeholder expectations and experience in working across different cultures.
Strong communication skills
The Mechanical Planner needs to be a self-starter, taking initiatives and work without close supervision
Due to multiple/conflicting priorities, candidate needs to be strong in prioritization, managing stakeholder expectations and be resilient under pressure.
Should be able to guide the team and steer them through the tough/demanding situations and able to contribute hands on.
Sound understanding of business/process workflow and having mature mindset to deal and behave under tough/challenging situations.
Passionately invest in coaching to enhance teams’ performance and capability for future roles. Hold honest performance conversations and intervene to address patterns of underperformance.
Keep the team highly motivated and energized. Take proactive and reactive measures in resolving Ethics & Compliance, ER/IR issues.
