As the Associate Director - Facilities at AstraZeneca, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and improving our facilities in Chennai. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that all equipment runs efficiently with zero breakdowns, enabling our business to operate without interruption. This role involves managing third-party integrated facility management companies and ensuring they meet the agreed service level agreements.
The Associate Director – Facilities is responsible for ensuring service delivery for facilities management services within GITC. This role will be responsible for facilities operations, including technical/soft services, security, cafeteria, transport, domestic & international travel, statutory compliances and audits, vendor management, procurement, finance, events, parking management, and guest relations.
You will provide vision, leadership, and communication within an entrepreneurial culture. You must have a passion for and in-depth knowledge of Real Estate and Facilities Management Operations. Handling larger teams across different buildings and cities will be part of your responsibilities.
You will strategize and operate at a tactical level, acting as an internal ambassador, mentor, analyst, solutions architect, implementer, and cost controller. Building links with internal/global business collaborators and partnering with key vendors is critical to operating within a fast-paced and sophisticated environment.
Driving cost management in your portfolio is crucial – reviewing and agreeing on budgets and ensuring adherence while working with procurement and service providers to achieve outstanding service and target reduced delivery costs where possible.
You must have a detailed understanding of the real estate portfolio and business. You are empowered to deliver results independently but in collaboration with all internal team members (i.e., Projects, design, finance, legal, HR etc.).
You will show sound business judgment and make high-velocity decisions to continually set the standard for employee experience. Working with internal and/or external partners to ensure facility(s) and/or program(s) align with organizational objectives is key.
Overseeing modifications, expansions, and significant post-occupancy projects while working with the Workplace Strategy & Innovation team & vendor partners to meet project scope and manage communication with key team members is part of your role.
- 15+ years professional experience required - a sizable portion of which should demonstrate success in managing facilities of more than 500,000 SFT in a multi-tenant IT park.
