About the Role:
As an Associate Director, Payroll, you will provide strategic leadership and guidance to payroll professionals. You will be accountable for the performance and results of multiple payroll-related countries, ensuring that payroll processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the organization's strategic goals. Your expertise will drive continuous improvement and innovation in payroll practices.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee multiple payroll-related APAC countries, ensuring cohesive and efficient operations.
• Develop and enforce strategic payroll policies and practices.
• Identification, mitigation and remediation of issues, findings, and control gaps.
• Lead initiatives for payroll process improvements and system upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal controls.
• Develop and implement automation opportunities
• Supervise the E2E audit requirements for Payroll Team, proactively anticipating issue areas and ensuring compliance
• Manage the relationship between Risk / Audit and Payroll Team, including leading on internal risk and audit activities
• Develop and maintain detailed processes and procedures for every country, considering specific requirement and company strategy
• Support M&A or new country expansion efforts by partnering with other team members to identify compliance requirements and enable adherence to local laws
• Ensure a robust control framework to govern the accuracy and effectiveness of Payroll input/output
• Provide leadership and support to payroll professionals.
• Monitor department performance and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with leadership to align payroll operations with organizational goals.
• Conduct high-level payroll data analysis and present findings to senior management.
• Manage relationships with external payroll vendors and service providers.
• Drive employee engagement and development within the payroll team.
Skills:
• 15+ years of HR or Finance experience, with 8+ years of experience in managerial Payroll roles.
• Advanced Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of APAC payroll laws and their application.
• High-Level Data Interpretation: Analyzing complex payroll data and making strategic recommendations.
• Vendor Management: Managing relationships with external payroll service providers.
• Executive Communication: Effective communication with senior management and stakeholders.
• Employee Development: Fostering professional growth within the payroll team.
• Strategic Planning: Aligning payroll operations with the organization's strategic objectives.
• Provides leadership and guidance to managers, supervisors and/or senior professionals based on organizational goals and company policy
• Is accountable for the performance and results of multiple related departments or areas
• Develops departmental plans and determines objective-oriented assignments
• Establishes operating policies and procedural plans, including business and operational priorities, methodologies and standards.
