About this role


The mission of the BlackRock’s Finance & Strategy team is to ensure optimized operating models within Finance. To promote this objective, Finance Platform Strategies (FPS) team connects’ key Finance resources with relevant functional specialists from across BlackRock, identifies and documents business requirements and manages the implementation and subsequent maintenance of platforms and processes designed to address those requirements.  FPS team members apply knowledge of technology and BlackRock’s people, processes, and data - to advance both new business initiatives and ongoing business process enhancements.


Team


Global FPS team members are responsible for managing projects that drive Finance objectives forward. Initiatives may have either local, regional or global focus.  Team responsibilities include coordinating activities and supporting effective and timely communication among project team members and subject matter experts from across the firm; drafting clear and comprehensive business requirements, test scripts & project plans; designing sound processes and workflow models; partnering with internal or third party resources to drive design specification sign-off, oversee technical development progress and coordinate quality unit testing; facilitating user training services and; ensuring timely delivery of effective, well designed solutions. 


The team also supports Finance’s day-to-day operations, ensuring that our technologies remain optimized, and our processes are efficient and resilient within a robust control framework. The suite of technology solutions Finance employs includes Oracle Cloud Financials, Coupa, Concur, Revport, IBM Cognos Analytics and our proprietary BlackRock Aladdin platform. 


Your Responsibilities


Extensive hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud ERP Financials is required. Role involves clear & detailed business requirements documentation, design, and delivery of effective solutions, and provide ongoing support and oversight of the Finance ecosystem and our critical processes. Also encompasses understanding how to deliver information insights to inform business decision making and support effective and efficient ongoing business management.  Candidates should have a passion for technology, business analysis, as well as experience developing and driving strategic initiatives, process enhancements and automation gains.  Responsibilities include:


  • Engaging constructively with teams whose members can represent a wide range of BlackRock functional groups across regions 


  • Requirement and design analysis, application configuration, testing (functional, SIT, regression), defect analysis & support & maintenance of Cloud ERP modules


  • Understanding corporate operating procedures, identifying functional gaps and working with Finance leadership to close such gaps 


  • Developing deep subject matter expertise and sharing gained skills and experience with colleagues to extend operating leverage


  • Solidifying actionable business requirements and supporting strategic projects to successful completion, deploying, as appropriate, a wide range of financial applications, analytical and automation tools, and proprietary code development where necessary


  • Deliver ongoing end-user training for Finance platforms


Critical Skills 


  • Must have 5+ Oracle Cloud Financials (AP, FA, PA, PO, CM, GL) experience in systems configuration, preparing, and executing system training and testing


  • Experience working with Coupa Spend Management System preferred; Experience with SAP Concur Travel & Expense Management System and/or Cognos Analytics a plus


  • Demonstrated experience with Procure-to-Pay process.


  • Business analysis & SDLC experience


  • Understanding of relational database concepts (including SQL) and OLAP technology


  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications 


  • Experience working with global project teams spread across time zones


  • Strong Knowledge of Finance and Accounting Principles


  • Superior organizational skills; ability to multi-task and flex with changing priorities


  • Exposure to asset management industry with focus on end-to-end expense management is a definite plus.


  • Technical skills in programming languages such as Python and usage of API platforms (such as postman etc.) is preferred
