We are currently looking for a Associate Chief Engineer (Ammonia Process Lead) specialized in green, blue and grey Ammonia to join our team based in Chennai, India.


Overview / Responsibilities :


Reporting to one of the local delivery managers, and after an integration period, you will be in charge of:


  • Leading study activities for our new energies early phase studies related to green/ blue ammonia. 
  • Accountable for successful completion of assigned tasks and deliverables. During the studies (mainly at the feasibility, conceptual and Pre-FEED) you will supervise and contribute to the production of key process deliverables including Heat and material balances, PFDs, technology reviews, layouts, balance of plant, operations philosophies, input into technical safety reviews etc.
  • Maintain documentation as per quality procedure
  • Oversee and manage a team of junior process engineers on each study.
  • Responsible for maintaining client interface while executing study/project. Coordinate external interfaces with the customer, Licensors/suppliers, subcontractors for all technical issues and internal interfaces with the project management team, construction engineering and commissioning disciplines.
  • Produce technology evaluation, Integration with blue or green hydrogen production, operation of plants. 
  • Contribute to the development of methods, tools and guides under the Process Community of Practice.
  • Train and develop skills in the location and global.
  • Have an understanding of confidentiality, Non-Disclosure Agreements and management of intellectual property (IP) between licensors. 
  • Knowledge of operation of ammonia plants desired. 
  • Provide necessary inputs required for proposal tendering
  • Liaise with the Market study consultant or third party assistance for the necessary inputs required for the Feasibility Study
  • Liaise with Engineering disciplines, procurement, cost estimation for the necessary inputs required for the study
  • Liaise with other offices (within country/outside country) for delivery of projects while working on projects executed through multicenter
  • Keep up to date with new developments of standards, process software, other digital tools, procedures and implement it to the day to day work
  • Work in compliance with all safety rules and regulations and maintain quality

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Chemical engineering or equivalent from reputed university and 10 – 20 years’ experience in Advisory and Consulting Services with specific experience in Feasibility/Conceptual Studies
  • Minimum 5 years specialized experience in green, blue and grey Ammonia production, engineering and design, is highly desired 
  • Experience in team management and/or project management will be appreciated.
  • Familiar with process design (P&ID, PFD, process simulation in Hysys, PROII etc.).
  • You are rigorous, autonomous, curious and a great team player
  • Familiar with international industrial design standards
  • Familiar with / have experience of safety reviews (HAZID/ HAZOP)
