Applied Product Engineer, Associate


Job description


Description of Project Engineering department responsibilities:


Project Engineering department is responsible of fulfilling the complete project requirements when an order is received, handling all the customer technical documents, interaction with suppliers, including:


  • Pump Performance Curve (PPC) review and updates.


  • Review of technical specifications and other technical documentation in the purchase order and quotation, to define the modifications needed to the product to fulfill order requirements


  • Creation of pump data sheets.


  • Creation of technical specifications of Buyouts (motors, couplings, mechanical seals, variable speed couplings, lube oil systems, filters, special valves, etc)


  • Creation of Noise Data Sheet (NDS)


  • Creation of Utility Consumption List (UTL)


  • Creation of Lubrication List, spare parts list, nameplates.


  • Creation of contractual Technical Documentation for customer information, customer comments, or approval


  • Creation of WPS/ PQR with weld map.


  • Supporting for the Technical Requisition.


  • Interaction with the cross functional teams to capture the relevant information.


  • Support during the commissioning and warranty period of the equipment


Applied Product Engineer responsibilities:


The Applied Product Engineer is part of the project Engineering department, and has the following responsibilities:


  • Handling the project reports and expediting on the supplier documents.


  • Taking complete ownership of the project which requires interaction with project managers, suppliers.


  • Review of technical specifications and other technical documentation


  • Technical coordination of engineering roles assigned to the order


  • Creation of technical specifications of Buyouts


  • Creation of contractual Technical Documentation (other than drawings)


  • Technical support to quotations


  • Technical calculations like orifice sizing, impeller trimming,


  • Support during the commissioning and warranty period


  • Meetings with each individual Project Engineers, supply chain buyer on the status updates from supplier and customer hold ups


The candidates should have:


Required


  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar


  • Experience with rotating components preferably pump experience (0-2 Yr minimum)


  • Advance knowledge of Ms Excel, and ability to be able to take real benefit from the computer tools to gain efficiency in the daily work


  • Fluent in English both verbal and written communication is required; other languages are a plus


  • Good interpersonal and communication skills


  • Acting as a team player. Persistent, creative and service mentality are also important skills


  • Readiness to travel internationally in a percentage of 10% approx


Desirable


  • Experience with programming around Ms Office applications


  • ERP (Oracle) knowledge


  • Continuous improvement skills (Lean)


  • Risk Assessment experience in technical background


  • Customer oriented, experience in front of customer to solve technical issues
