CHILD SAFEGUARDING (Strike out whichever is not applicable)


Level 1: The role holder will not have contact with children and/or young people, or access to personal data about children or young people, as part of their work; therefore, a police check will not be mandatory unless the content or location of the role changes, in which case the Child Safeguarding level will be reviewed.


Level 2: Either the role holder will have access to personal data about children and/or young people as part of their work; or they will be working in a ‘regulated’ position (Finance, Monitoring & Evaluation, Legal etc.); therefore, a police check will be required.


Level 3: The role holder will have contact with children and/or young people either frequently (e.g., once a week or more) or intensively (e.g., four days in one month or more or overnight) because they work in programs; or are visiting programs; therefore, a police check will be required.



ROLE PURPOSE : To plan, implement and monitor the project in Nashik Maharashtra which is  focusing on   “ Improved Access to Quality and Play-Based Early Learning for Children aged 3-8 years” in 75 AWCs and 50 with an emphasis on developing school readiness and foundational literacy and numeracy skills in 3-8 years old children by integrating play based learning approaches at centre, school and at home, generating evidences on learning through play for advocacy purposes and technical assistance to state and strengthening education support system.



SCOPE OF ROLE


About the Project 


  • Bal Raksha Bharat is looking for a dynamic person from the field of education for this project to implement the and successfully deliver against a set of challenging objectives and for setting high standards in how Bal Raksha Bharat demonstrates impact in education.
  • Bal Raksha Bharat intends to recruit an Academic Support Fellow - Education in Nasik Maharashtra to deliver against a set of challenging objectives under the project.

- Improved Access to Quality and Play-Based Early Learning for Children aged 3-8 years.


  • Overall objective of the project is to improve access to quality early learning for girls and boys of 3 - 8 years.
  • S/he, Academic Support Fellow – Project - Improved Access to Quality and Play-Based Early Learning for Children aged 3-8 years” will be located at intervention block in Nasik Maharashtra and will be responsible for implementation project activities at ground level.

Scope: 


  • Support in successful implementation of the project activities in selected bock of Nashik district  
  • Establish collaborative relationship and regularly engage with the ICDS, AWW, CRC level education department, school management committees (SMCs) Anganwadi Development Committees (ADC) and school principals, children, parents for effective implementation of the project. 
  • Support innovative teaching & learning methodology, school management work plans; undertake review and monitor progress against the plans aligning to the project deliverables.
  • Undertake timely corrective measures to ensure project is implemented as per the agreed timelines and quality standards.
  • Support to provide regular onsite support so that the project activities are effectively and efficiently executed on ground to meet the set deliverables.
  • Support team create evidence base of the process activities, changes and impact of the project interventions on the regular basis as per save the children’s knowledge management processes.
  • Ensure quality and timely compliance on periodic reporting to the project office, state office, donor and local government department.
  • Liaising and networking with local government institutions as per the requirement of the project and advocacy plans of the save the children.
  • Raising awareness of the project amongst stakeholders including school children, parents, government representatives, ICDS & education department, SCERT, local NGOs media etc.
  • Support for research, documentation, media coverage, advocacy with different government departments (wcd, education, social welfare).
  • Engaging volunteer staff from donor, facilitating donor visits and adhering to the time commitment
  • Ensure that you work to the best of your ability and demonstrate high levels of commitment to Save the Children in order to ensure the objectives of your role and the country programme are met.
  • Ensure the efficient use of all Bal Raksha Bharat’s resources in order to maximize use of resources for benefiting children
  • Support for comply with the requirements of save the children’s child protection policy to ensure maximum protection for children
  • Support in evaluating the impact of the project 
  • Preparing the activity plan, monitoring and evaluation system, internal and external reports
  • Analyzing the baseline study data to determine the underlining needs of the beneficiaries

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Post Graduate in social work or social sciences and D. Ed /B. Ed

  • Liasioning and networking skills
