Overview This role will work broadly against the following PepsiCo Positive goals: Regenerative agriculture, Positive Water Impact, Lower Carbon Emissions and Sustainable Sourcing. Candidate will work cross functionally with >50 associates within operations, procurement, etc. who have PMP level responsibility for delivering relevant aspects of the Sustainable Farming Program by collaborating with >33000 growers across 14 diversified states of India and 5 districts of Bangladesh. KPI’s include: Demonstrating progress in delivering key Regenerative Ag and Livelihoods metrics and outcomes Water Use Efficiency improvement over 2015 baseline driven by Micro-irrigation & yield improvement projects Carbon emission reduction driven by CFT analysis & multiple projects Nutrient Use Optimization through soil health improvement projects Livelihood improvement for farming community in India Supporting implementation an executional roadmap to achieve 100% Sustainable Ingredients in accordance with the corporate objective of India and Bangladesh Supporting BU resources in developing an executional strategy and delivering the greenhouse gas reduction and climate resilience plans in India and Bangladesh Responsibilities Support the India BU Sustainable Agriculture Manager in developing and deploying solutions in support of the PepsiCo Positive Agriculture goal for key Agri. Crops: Engage with India BU, Sector & Global teams as well as external partners (like NGOs, Government bodies, FPOs and industry partners with shared objectives) to understand future risks and opportunities Work closely with other key resources in the India Sustainability Office and Global Sustainability Office to ensure consistent global program delivery Coordination of field based activities to ensure the timely and accurate collection of primary supplier and farm based data in support of solutions development ad proof points Engage with other critical functions including the PepsiCo Foundation, PPGA, Controls, Communications, Legal and R&D to drive the sustainability agenda Provide guidance to the teams to meet Sustainable Farming Program requirements (e.g. preparing for and following up on verifications through Control Union & other external partners etc.). Support contracting, budget execution and forecasting with external partners Hands-on expertise and delivery of goals through analytical tools like CFT (Cool Farm Tool) and ADAS Advise and support India Agro team on executional plans, progress and AOP implications Assist in effective monitoring and reporting in line with global and sector requirements Support management of strategic partnerships and effectively leverage third-party resources Support the management of existing partnerships (e.g. GDA, Mars-Wrigley, Bayer, YARA, Absolute, CIP, Supply Chain partnerships) including ensuring effective reporting and project management Support development of new collaboration opportunities (with peer companies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Government institutes like CPRI) to address locally-relevant risks and opportunities Contribute to identifying new local solution providers (external companies/organizations) that can be leveraged for the deployment of impact projects Seek out proven solutions (e.g. agronomic practices, technologies, tools) that enhance agricultural sustainability and support the PepsiCo Positive / Agriculture agenda. Align, track, interpret and communicate impact Align with relevant stakeholders on defining “impact” across areas of delivery and methodology for successfully accruing the impact by debottlenecking across various levels Support effective monitoring plan design and implementation such that quality data can be obtained and assist in analysis and recommendations Contribute to communication of impact to senior leadership within sector operations and procurement Set up and lead reviews with all stakeholders (Sector leadership) and BU region teams to ensure on-track project management, highlighting risks, seeking support and delivering impact Qualifications Education & Certifications Undergraduate degree in related field Master’s degree /Doctorate preferred Work Experience 7-10 years experience in the Agriculture/Sustainable agriculture space Leveraging sustainable agriculture programs and practices to build sustainability and drive impact Strong understanding of key agricultural sustainability opportunities and challenges for the food and beverage industry Ability to remain tactical and results-oriented in ambiguous, complex and less-structured environments Strong time management skills, ability to handle multiple projects, set priorities and plan Outstanding collaborator with proven communication skills and business orientation Highly motivated individual with a passion for sustainability
