About the role:

We are looking for Principal Engineer - Maritime Structures to join our team. This role will be based at our AtkinsRéalis office in Bangalore, India.

Our clients are UK, US and Canada, and our projects typically fall within one of the following categories: flood defense; hydraulic structures; ports and maritime. Consequently, Rivers & Coastal staff have a broad range of science and engineering skills including river and coastal engineering; hydrology and hydraulics; dams; weirs; hydraulic gates; ports and maritime engineering.

What will you contribute? 

• Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer.
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. MTech Structures preferred.
• Experience 20-25 years.
• Experience in design delivery, including multidisciplinary design within the port and maritime environment.
• Sound knowledge in the civil and structural design of port and maritime infrastructure supporting port operations, the berthing and mooring of vessels and the transit of people and goods around the globe. 
• Working experience with current UK and European design standards including BS6349.
• Awareness of the importance of considering Health and Safety in design and construction and experience of preparing designers’ risk assessments.
• Knowledge of UK health and safety legislation (such as CDM Regulations 2015) or similar legislations for other regions.
• Manage a team to undertake technical design work following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
• Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
• Successfully manage time and budgets to key project milestones and programmes.
• Work closely with teams in the India, UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
