The candidate will be responsible for developing sales within a defined territory, focusing on the Laboratory Consumables Portfolio.The successful candidate will use product features and benefits to identify and qualify leads, initiate the sales process and effectively promote the Company’s products and services to exceed the assigned territory sales plan.The primary objective of the position is to build positive relationships with customers virtually to achieve salesRole & ResponsibilitiesThe Area Sales Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific India is responsible for driving business growth in a specific geographical area by developing and implementing effective sales strategies and tactics. The primary duties and responsibilities of this role include:Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for growth of Lab Consumables business by effectively leading team and developing Customer and Channel Partner relationships and thus increase sales from the customers
  • Responsible for the Growth & Drive business of Assigned Area
  • Develops strategies and implements plans to grow profitable sales.
  • Works closely with Customer Service /Product team/ Supply chain Team to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution
  • Collaborates with marketing team to create more and more awareness for lab equipment Market of Assign Market
  • Responsible for preparation of Sales Forecasts, effective trend analysis and drive achievement. Follows up diligently on leads received from other areas/divisions of the organization.
  • Meet AOP numbers and achieves annual sales and gross margin targets; operates within expense budget guidelines & policies.
  • Functions as a segment guide; understands market issues & trends impacting the equipment segment of the market & brings Strategic direction to grow the business of assign area
  • Identify new key Customers. Participates in scientific events such as CMEs and build Key Opinion Leaders
  • Responsible for keeping Account Receivables under control.
  • Prioritize regular reviews with Customer & Channel Partner and respective team of assigned area.
  • Forecasts the sales funnel for the assigned area / Customer
  • Increase Brand Awareness & Improve Customer Allegiance Scores
  • Work with channel partners to monitor & grow equipment business in assigned territory /Customer
  • Leverage Thermo Fisher Connections including support, service, and management resources, in order to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations
  • Lead Business development initiatives in the Region, with aim of improving Market Share in major /key accounts
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Business or Science, MBA in Marketing/Sales will be added advantage,
  • 4 – 7 years of business experience, with people management experience as an edge if available,
  • Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:Excellent time management and prioritisation skillsApplication of problem-solving and multi-tasking techniquesAbility to develop technical knowledge across a broad range of sophisticated productsSolid understanding and application of MS Office
Knowledge and Skills required for the role:
  • Must be results oriented, assertive and self – motivated, possess strong organizational skills to be able to achieve goals consistently
  • Must possess professional selling and presentation skills to influence multiple levels at customer’s organization
  • Must have the ability to understand and apply complex product applications
  • Must have excellent negotiation skills to close sales and meet gross profit targets
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate effectively with customers, customer service and different levels of internal and external customers
  • Must have analytical skills and intellectual ability to develop ideas, products and solutions, apply creative thinking, prepare a business plan and report quantitative data
  • Must have decision-making ability to perceive and evaluate alternatives, analyze impact of decisions before executing them, and implement decisions with appropriate evidence and rationale
  • Proficient in English, Hindi, written and oral, additional languages i.e Gujarati preferred
