Architect - Quality Engineering
Experience
8 – 12 Years
Responsibilities:
• Horizontal Leadership: Bring end-to-end vision to QE by identifying gaps in automated test coverage
• Collaborate with senior leadership and lead different QE teams in implementing the vision
• Mentor and coach team members to improve their skills and expertise in automation
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within R&D
• Define the overall quality automation strategy and roadmap
• Establish best practices, standards, and guidelines for test automation
• Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, test cases and efficiency
• Provide technical guidance and oversight for automation initiatives
• Review and approve test automation architectures and designs
• Troubleshoot complex automation issues
Process Improvement
• Drive continuous improvement of automation processes and practices
• Implement metrics to measure automation effectiveness and efficiency
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in the automation pipeline
• Promote adoption of DevOps and CI/CD practices for test automation
Cross-Team Collaboration
• Partner with development, product, and QE chapters to integrate automation into the SDLC
• Coordinate automation efforts across multiple squads
Community Building
• Organize regular chapter meetings and knowledge sharing sessions
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation within the chapters
• Encourage participation in automation guilds and communities of practice
Promote the value of test automation across the organization
Candidate Profile:
• Proven experience in a quality engineering role,
• Cross-functional leadership experience focused on improving coverage of automated testing will be viewed favorably
• Proven ability to build communities of link-minded engineers focused on building quality products
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes
• Experience with manual and automated testing approaches and tools
• Understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, C#
• Familiarity with testing methodologies like Agile, Waterfall, DevOps
• Experience with CI/CD processes and tools
• Knowledge of test automation frameworks and the testing pyramid
• Understanding of various testing types (unit, integration, acceptance, regression)
