Position Summary

Position Summary and Location


·In this role, the Apprentice Lab Technician is responsible to assist the team of Test Engineers and Lab Technicians in planning and executing various testing scopes at the Global Reliability Test Center.


·In this role the apprentice will be involved hands-on with all the testing activities under mechanical, electrical and electronic domains.


·This position is based in Chandigarh, and strictly based at the test center


·We support professional development goals through further education and certifications.






Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL


  • Assists the test engineers in the setting up tests, execution and collection of data.
  • Assists in operating the various test equipment like environmental chamber, vibration shaker etc.
  • Assists in routine operation, maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Assists in maintaining hardware lab equipment like oscilloscopes, microscopes, strain gauges, and accelerometers
  • Assists in procurement of all laboratory tools and supplies from local markets.
  • Arranges support as required in maintenance and recalibration mechanical and electronic equipment, tools and instrumentation.
  • Assists in performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical supply panels and switchgears
  • Manages log entries of lab inventory usage and/or issuance to projects.
  • Assists in maintaining library of operations and user manuals of equipment in the labs.
  • Perform all other duties as requested, directed or assigned
  • Demonstrates high level of initiative to accomplish individual objectives assigned as well as team goals
  • Comply to organizational HR and HSSE policies and procedures

Ensure that the Safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to so far as is reasonably practicable in order to ensure a safe working environment.

Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.


Perform the assigned tasks with due diligence.


Eliminate waste of whatever form, to suggest the use of more environmentally friendly substances and practices and contribute to the continuous improvement of the environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications


Diploma in Electrical Engineering, or Electronics & Communication or equivalent degree with minimum four years of relevant industry experience


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics


  • Good Communication Skills are a must
  • Self-Driven, positive attitude
  • Ability to work in cross functional team
  • Strong commitment to health and safety for self and co-workers

Working Conditions


This position is considered LAB WORK which is characterized as follows.


  • Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night
  • Limited exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
  • Work surface is stable (flat)
