Job Title:Analyst - Material CostSummary:Momentive Business Services (MBS) provides exceptional support to global operations, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment that drives operational excellence. The Global Shared Services team, based in India and Mexico, is integral to this mission, delivering comprehensive finance and business support.
In this key role within the Global Finance Shared Services Team in India, the incumbent of this role will support timely execution & delivery of commitments as per the roles and responsibilities defined, to meet expectations of our functional stakeholders in Global Supply Chain Finance team. The candidate should display a great sense of accountability, ethics at work and be willing to take over additional responsibilities from time to time.Responsibilities Include:

Tasks and responsibilities of the position:


  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting actual raw material purchases


  • Analyze raw material purchases on an ongoing basis to identify and address any favorable or unfavorable cost variations, ensuring accuracy and financial control


  • Responsible for preparation and analysis of monthly inflation/deflation and Purchase Price Variance (variance vs. standard) for raw material costs, along with financial reporting, budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and ad-hoc estimations


  • Responsible for reporting and highlighting the key drivers of supply chain finance spend, including raw material costs, duties, duty drawbacks, intercompany transactions, and freight, across actuals, estimates, and budget.


  • Collaborate with Operations and Business Unit Finance teams to provide guidance on raw material costs, while developing and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and cost visibility


  • Responsible for delivering efficient and accurate financial reporting and analysis to internal clients (Operations/Supply Chain Management, Business Units and Sectors) and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting standards and Momentive’s internal financial policies


  • Design and improve process/reporting of Raw Material cost and work with appropriate business partners to deliver on assigned projects


  • Support projects related to Hybrid Costing and Spend Automation, contributing to the development and implementation of these initiatives.


  • Review and approve specific business transactions as determined by Momentive’s delegation of authority policy, in coordination with Operations Finance Management, Procurement & Supply Chain Management, and Sector and Business Unit Management teams


Key Metrics- Role is Accountable For:


Minimize risk to customer delivery by accurately analyzing and reporting material costs, ensuring timely and efficient financial reporting, estimates, AOP, and ad-hoc requests. Manage, evaluate, and analyze financial and cost accounting data to generate actionable business insights and reporting.


Qualifications:

The following are required for the role


Basic Qualifications:
  • CMA/ MBA finance, accounting, business, or related field
  • Min. 3-5 years of progressive Finance experience as a Finance Analyst, Cost Analyst, Operations Analyst, or related role
  • Critical thinking and strategic mindset
  • Strong Material Cost Planning & Analysis, Financial analysis, Budgeting,  
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams in a global environment across different time zones
  • Fluency in English is mandatory

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Strong working experience using SAP/Business Warehouse
  • Advanced MS Excel (Filters, Pivots, Dynamic Charts, Formulas, VLOOKUP, and MS PowerPoint experience
  • Working knowledge of PowerBI/Tableau – Preferred but not required
  • Working knowledge of accounting processes, procedures and internal controls including Sarbanes-Oxley Act; U.S. accounting rules and regulations including historical cost, revenue recognition, matching and full disclosure principles
