IT - CMDB, Change and Release Analyst


This position is responsible for executing the existing IT Change Management processes ensuring changes in Baxter’s environments are done with the appropriate amount of due diligence; capturing and reporting on compliance and performance measurements associated with the Change Management process; and performing critical analysis on measurements to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiencies, effectiveness, adaptability. Expert understanding of CMDB Classes and Data model. Co-ordinate with IT Operations and other teams to ensure that the CMDB is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible to authorized users.


Primary responsibilities include


  • Ensure proposed changes are evaluated for their risks, conflicts and that all application and business impacts are considered. Monitor lifecycle and timely closure of change records
  • Review and approve/reject change records, ensuring that all the activities designed to implement the change are as per the standards and Baxter SOPs. Ensures that process documentation regarding the change is well defined, recognized, reviewed and meets all criteria for effective and successful changes.  Ensure proper change communication and stakeholder engagement/approval occur
  • Coordinate and conduct the infrastructure Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to discuss higher risk changes, providing necessary input. Manage meeting agenda, minutes, and other reporting requirements.
  • Act as point of contact for infrastructure and application teams for change management process questions and issues
  • Provide training on the change management process. Create and maintain process documentation
  • Assist with other IT Service Management (ITSM) change management process initiatives
  • Release Management activities to Develop and maintain release plans, including scheduling, resource allocation, and coordination with various teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of releases, ensuring that they are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to minimize disruptions and optimize the release process.
  • Conduct regular audits of the CMDB to ensure that it is accurate and up to date.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for the CMDB, including user guides, process documentation, and configuration data.
  • Monitor CMDB health and resolve conflicts between data sources.
  • Knowledge on CMDB Processes and KPIs.
  • Provides governance to ensure the integrity of the Configuration Management Database.
  • Designs enhancements/improvements for the maturity of the CMDB and Configuration Management process and translates them into business requirements.
  • Define configuration items and classes, their attributes, data collection, and governance that are important to support other ITSM modules and business objectives.

Qualifications and Education Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree and with Change Management and CMDB experience
  • Customer service-oriented thinking. Interpersonal skills and ability to influence.
  • Proven experience with industry IT change management methodologies as ITIL & tools (i.e., ServiceNow or other Service Management tools)
  • Having enough knowledge of IT infrastructure operations is required to ensure appropriate oversight of change activity.
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple levels of the organization, other IT departments including suppliers to ensure adherence and alignment with Baxter change SOPs, best practices, and other directives, this is a governance role.
  • Must be well organized and able to effectively lead/host change review meetings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail and results oriented.

Preferred Skills


  • ITIL V3 Foundation certification
  • Knowledge of other ITSM process areas (Incident, Problem, CMDB), specifically related to how these processes interact with change
