This role will execute on category maintenance and analytics (reporting, taxonomy, etc.) activities to successfully grow and maintain best-in-class category strategies. This role will assist in the development of and adherence to strategic category strategy processes and procedures, supplier and category segmentation, metrics/KPI development, etc.It is necessary for this individual to understand enabling services categories, the impact on the organization (both short and long term) and can flex across multiple categories as business needs fluctuate. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of BMS’s global category strategy efforts. This position will support continuous improvement initiatives that will enable the business to achieve its strategic objectives. This position will be located in Hyderabad, India and work collaboratively with several in country and global stakeholders to successfully execute work.Major Responsibilities and Accountabilities: Category Strategy Support & Enablement Assist Category Leads in the day-to-day activities needed to successfully define and implement optimal strategies for buying channels, purchasing policies, and supplier relationship management programsSupport the category lead to develop implementation plans to activate strategies across regions, markets, and business unitsIncludes conducting market research, analyzing data, and identifying trends to support the development of category strategiesUpdate global buying channel definitions, associated policies, and processes to establish a consistent approach across all business units and regions (global, regional, local)Maintain accurate documentation as requiredSupport integrated change management efforts (e.g., communications, training) across the related processes as neededEnsure pull through of category strategies with the Source-to-Contract (S2C) teamsIdentify and mitigate risks associated with the category, including supply chain disruptions, supplier financial stability, and geopolitical factorsAssist in the creation and maintenance of category-related documentation such as contracts, pricing agreements, and promotional materials.Assist in supplier management and performance tracking across categoriesCategory Analytics & Data MaintenanceDefine and track key category & supplier performance measures (operational metrics, preferred supplier adherence, buying channel compliance, performance of category strategies, etc.)Manage data to provide meaningful insights as needed by category leadsEnsure proper value capture reporting and monitor appropriate analytics in order to address performance gaps and improvement opportunitiesCommunicate performance reports that monitor adoption and compliance to key stakeholdersPull, clean, and analyze spend data for category leads & business partners as neededMaintain data and toolsets needed to support reporting and category management activitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data consistency and resolve any discrepanciesTrack progress against critical category and enterprise initiatives / metrics (e.g., diverse supplier spend, Service Level Agreements (SLAs))Continuous ImprovementTake initiative for continuous improvement and proactively propose enhancement opportunitiesStay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices within category managementShare best practices with other procurement category leads, appropriate category managers and other Global Procurement colleaguesChampion procurement objectivesSupport preparation for continuous improvement sessions (e.g. pulling & consolidating supplier capabilities & performance)Consider and address feedback from internal users/customers, proactively determining best response to continually improve processRegularly review and evaluate processes, seeking opportunities to streamline and enhance efficiencyAnalyze market trends, supplier performance, and cost-saving opportunitiesInternal/External Stakeholders:  Category Leads and other Category ManagersBusiness Partners and PS&C (i.e., Center) team members as neededThird Party Vendors / Supplier ManagementMembers of industry; technology councils and organizationsQualifications: Minimum Requirements:B.S./B.
