Network Capability Delivery and Settlement Operations under GMNS acts on behalf of enterprise to support, develop, enable products and capabilities for the American Express Global Network (AEGN).


This job posting relates to The Network Settlement & ATM operations team under Network Capability Delivery & Settlement Operations. The team is primarily responsible for settling funds between American Express (AXP) and GNS Partners or ATM Service Providers, managing the related contractual fees, Network Partner Settlements & resolve ATM billing discrepancies or disputes. The objective of the Network Settlement & ATM operations team is to provide an exceptional service & operational experience to our GNS, ATM Business Partners, Proprietary Partners & key Stakeholders by establishing itself as Center of excellence spread across two location and operate as one team in India and UK.


The position for Senior Analyst, Settlement Governance is an Individual Contributor role. The role is highly engaging and pivots itself as a bridge between Operational Excellence team, Enterprise Compliance Functions and Settlement Operations. The role focuses on ensuring control management activities are embedded in the day-to-day operations of Network and ATM Settlement Operations. The core responsibilities include extensive collaboration with multiple compliance partners spread across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies including but not limited to Operational Excellence, Global Records Management, Spreadsheet Program Office, Enterprise Resilience, SOX, Controllership, Business Product Management teams to name a few. The role supports extensive control and compliance activities on behalf of business operations to ensure adequate oversight and financial prudence on critical SOX related business functions. Some of the key responsibilities include:


·Conduct control management activities to support critical Quarterly PRSA testing. This testing is supplementary to independent testing by other compliance functions like SOX, RBST, ICT et al.


·Promote effective Operational Risk environment by timely documenting Operational Risks and taking a lead with Ops Excellence teams on End-to-End Issue Management per Enterprise Operational Risk Management framework.


·Support rigorous Annual Internal & External Audits including Audits by IAG group, PwC, SOC1, SOC2, SOX and various other Market specific Adhoc audit requests


·Support risk management practices in consultation within the Operational Excellence team like Annual PRSA refresh of critical Settlements and ATM operational PRSAs


  • Support Business Continuity and contingency by developing robust Business Continuity Plans for UK and India teams in consultation with Enterprise Resilience & Operations Managers across various business functions. Independently conduct Business Impact analysis (BIA) to assign appropriate risk tiering to varied processes in scope of Settlement and ATM operations.
  • Ensure adequate governance on Records management in line with Global Records Management policy and meet evolving operational needs
  • Effective Change management agent supporting operational readiness of key processes by ensuring compliance to established control and compliance activities and challenge the status quo if necessitated by the change

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:


  • 3+ Years experience in operational risk management (e.g., within Risk and/or Internal Audit function) Understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities
  • Strong project management, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in process governance, with an understanding of processes that align with policies, regulatory frameworks, and/or operational standards
  • Proficient analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, Risk Mgmt., or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous
  • Experience in financial services industry
  • Understanding of Archer System of record is an added advantage
  • Experience in at least few of the following risk management domains: 
    • Providing identification of operational risks throughout business processes and systems
    • Facilitating risk assessment performance in addition to further assessments and testing programs to ensure regulatory and internal standards are met
    • Enhancing risk assessments and associated methodologies
    • Reviewing independent control monitoring, including identification of control improvements
    • Identifying areas of risk for intervention, including conducting independent quality assurance and process testing
    • Reviewing thematic risk reporting to provide actionable insights on risk levels, emerging trends and root causes
