Job Profile/Key Responsibilities


The candidate for this role would primarily be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Enterprise Scheduling Platform (running on CA – Autosys/BMC CONTROL-M). This role will involve working closely with various application support and development teams for their batch scheduling requirements. The candidate will be required to work UK or India business hours.  Additional support outside these hours is also required (including some weekend working).


Key accountabilities


  • Support and maintenance of Enterprise Scheduling (AutoSys/CONTROL-M) environments.
  • Monitoring of Scheduling platforms (Autosys/CONTROL-M Servers and Remote Agents, iXp etc)
  • Administer access and security management of all Scheduling Infrastructure components.
  • Implement patches/updates to Scheduling Infrastructure Components (Autosys/iXp/CONTROL-M).
  • Identify opportunities to improve/automate the existing processes.
  • Proactively monitors daily production batch and file transmissions for potential failures and delays.
  • Providing Root Cause Analysis to determine the facts based on the problem.
  • Adherence to Change Management process and controls flow for various changes being implemented.    

Key skills and experience


  • At least 6 years of relevant IT industry experience.
  • At least 6 to 7 years of progressive Enterprise Scheduling experience on any of following tools

    CA AutoSys


    BMC CONTROL-M


  • Architectural knowledge of CA Workload Automation AutoSys /BMC CONTROL-M version 6.x/7.x.
  • Experience of supporting in multi instance platform.
  • Experience of supporting in High Availability architecture.
  • Troubleshooting experience - job failures, hung jobs, and remote agent issues, etc.

Essential Skills –


  • Experience of Jobs Monitoring, Scheduling, troubleshooting, administration and maintenance in business critical scheduling environment.
  • Experience in installation and maintenance of AutoSys (Scheduler/ Event Server) BMC CONTROL-M and remote agents on UNIX and Windows.
  • Good written & oral communications.
  • UNIX shell and PERL scripting knowledge.
