Title and Summary
Analyst, Financial Planning and Analysis, EuropeTitle: Analyst, Finance Business Partner
Overview: In this highly important and visible role, the Analyst will lead the preparation and execution of Central Europe’s Contra Revenue and Digital Partnerships P&L through management of product revenue streams, key customers financials and program investments. The role is critical in providing actionable insights through advanced analytics and positioning Mastercard as a market leader across the European region
• Key role responsibilities:
o Support the month end close process through the analysis of contra variances against budget, forecasts, prior year actuals, key business drivers and initiatives for the Central Europe Division and for Digital Deals/Global Accounts
o Interact and work along with respective country finance business partners as well as Global accounts/Digital Partnership stakeholders to identify and execute the development of the annual plan/budget and forecast for scheduled cycle. Role holder will also be responsible for ensuring accurate data is uploaded into Hyperion, CRS budgeting and forecasting tool
o Develop and maintain a comprehensive deal workbook aligned with customer agreements, business cases and Salesforce data. Ensure schedules include accurate forecasts, actuals and completed deal information for seamless tracking and analysis
o Take ownership of key Pan-Europe deals ensuring timely actualization and updates by planners across the region, build performance tracking mechanism
o Own end to end responsibility for number of Global Deals forecasting, help calculate changes in agreements and their impact on Pricing etc. Collaboration with the business team over the latest trends, initiatives for the global accounts will be highly critical
o Identify and communicate revenue risks and opportunities with the aim of increasing customer value and revenue growth. Furthermore, respond promptly to ad-hoc requests for information and analysis
o Oversee the identification of market trends, competitive positioning, and emerging opportunities to shape strategic direction by providing top class analytics
o Partner with stakeholders across Europe and various functions to drive the execution of key budget. Ensure alignment across functions, including Finance, Account Managers, Business Development and Country Managers, to drive shared outcomes and measurable success.
o Execute on financial process improvements by building and maintaining financial tools to perform analysis and modelling; review and create suggestions to financial systems. Investigate and create opportunities for automation
• Key required skills:
o Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and analysis to senior executives in a clear and impactful manner. Strong experience in creating high-quality presentation decks that influence decision-making
o Proven experience in leading the development of high-impact strategies in a top-tier consulting firm or within a corporate FP&A function covering forecasting, month end process for Revenue/P&L
o Expertise in advanced data analysis, with a strong ability to turn complex datasets into actionable insights. Advanced proficiency in Excel, with Alteryx and Hyperion experience is desirable to build sophisticated models that support decision-making
o A strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to identify innovative solutions to complex business challenges, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
o Strong soft capabilities with the ability to manage and influence cross-functional teams, build relationships with senior stakeholders, and align strategic initiatives with broader business objectives
o Deep understanding of key business drivers and the ability to align analytics and strategy initiatives with overarching organizational goals. Experience in working across a matrixed environment is highly desirable
o A high degree of adaptability and agility, with a strong ability to move quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, ensuring swift and effective decision-making
o Experience and knowledge in Payment industry is a desirable
• About you:
o Educational qualification - Chartered Accountant, CFA, CPA or MBA Finance
o Experience in financial reporting, forecasting roles with advanced knowledge and experience with all phases of financial planning and management
o Self-motivated with a proven track record of delivering success while operating in a team environment
o Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accuracy and to manage multiple activities of different nature in a condensed timeframe
o Excellent communication and presentation skills and strong relationship management and networking skills
o High intellect with good commercial acumen and a creative approach to problem solving. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
