How will you make an impact in this role?


American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the Global leader in the Corporate Payments Solutions space and continues to be an exciting and fast-growing business. To maintain success, accelerating sales and driving profitable growth are critical to the organization. The Sales Enablement, Pricing and Transformation (SPT) team is critical in supporting these objectives. Our Incentive Capabilities team is focused on powering GCS growth through the provision of new products which will enable new pricing constructs, enhance client incentive user journey, enhanced visibility & insights to support Sales and Account Development colleagues across the globe.


This position is fast-paced, critical decision oriented and requires a candidate who thrives on working in an energetic, client facing environment, excelling at building business partner relationships. It would involve partnering with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate the requirements into User Stories/Features/Epics and working along with the Technology team to ensure timely delivery of tasks ensuring tasks status are timely updated into JIRA/Rally. Active collaboration with various upstream / downstream teams and driving project updates in different forums would be critical to the role.


Responsibilities:


  • Work with Amex Technologies, and various product and platform partners to support delivery of Price to Pay Modernization (P2PM) project
  • Partners with Product Managers, Product Owners, New Product Development teams, Business Partners and Technology to help assure strategy, vision and road map alignment, and connect interdependent teams and initiatives
  • Prioritize development/product deliverables in alignment with business objectives.
  • Understand, gather, and translate project/user requirements into well-defined features/user stories with testable acceptance criteria, via collaboration with multiple stakeholders on requirements and prioritization.
  • Work closely with the technology team to develop, test and deliver the defined deliverables. Perform Unit Acceptance Testing (UAT) before accepting the stories.
  • Raise if any bugs/gaps are identified and get that fixed with technology team. Provide proactive solutioning to any sprint blockers.  
  • Appropriately and timely identify and raise risks, challenges, opportunities to track and meet project timelines
  • Writing and executing SQL queries to analyze and profile data in a big data environment to propose robust data quality controls.
  • Identify data quality controls and define data quality rules in collaboration with the data stewards. Run simulations to determine thresholds & pre implementation simulations for DQ rules.
  • Participate and drive project meetings and communicate effectively with leaders, peers, architects, system analysts, project managers & others, reporting project status as required.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor/Advanced degree in data science, computer science, information technology or in finance from premium institutes.
  • 3+ years of experience in Product management, data analysis, consulting or related experience.
  • Organized self-starter who can work through ambiguous situations and takes ownership & accountability for their work.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, strong attention to detail and control mindset
  • Exceptional team/ collaboration skills and demonstrate success with peer-leadership activities.
  • Pro-active, energetic self-starter with ability to think strategically
  • Proven ability to partner across multiple business functions, build relationships and influence decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced and matrixed environment
  • Understanding of commercial payments industry and economics
  • Proficient in SQL, Excel and Powerpoint  

Preferred Qualifications


  • MBA, Agile certification will be a plus
  • Prior Client Incentive Knowledge will be a plus.
  • Understanding of GCS business and relevant customer data landscape, a plus
