Function Description:


This position is within ICS (International Card Services) in India & will report to the Manager – Business Regulatory Projects. The incumbent would be functionally responsible for project managing critical regulatory projects, which would span across business units of AEBC.


Business Regulatory Projects Team implements changes as per regulatory requirements in the market by leading the projects to successfully achieve their objectives This role is critical for supporting business in managing risk, ensuring strong controls over day-to-day activities, issue management and timely delivery on regulatory mandates.


Purpose of the Role:


The primary focus of this role is to manage successful delivery of one or more regulatory projects with moderate level of complexity in collaboration with multiple stakeholders - within and outside of AEBC. Such projects would be spread across technical implementations, process uplifts, new process introductions, policy uplifts and new process introductions.


This role would require strong execution focus, influencing skills, strong personal accountability of delivery of complex change management initiatives, extensive knowledge of American Express products, processes, and platforms, strong project management discipline and exceptional communication skills.


Responsibilities


  • Work closely with multiple stakeholders to drive an agile implementation of critical regulatory projects.
  • Extensive collaboration with global functional teams across numerous business units and with controls functions for effective implementation and delivery of high priority projects.
  • Effective program management (and documentation), including definition of principles, tools, processes, roles and responsibilities and effective communication and management protocols of risks, issues, and changes.

Skills & Experience:


  • Proven expertise with strong technical skills, able to demonstrate driving success project / product change efforts in an agile environment, working with senior level stakeholders, and of being able to lead and influence without direct authority.
  • Strong enterprise thinking, organization abilities & communication skills.
  • Understanding of key AXP operations and technology functions with proven ability to navigate AXP organization and to effectively drive results.
  • Strong thought leadership, business acumen & execution skills. Strong control and compliance focus.
  • Experience of regulatory change management either within the business, operational excellence or compliance preferred.
  • Strong relationship and collaboration skills with the ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders across the organization, at all levels.
  • Outstanding communicator with the ability to communicate complex topics in a clear and effective manner, adapting communications based on the audience.
  • Candidates with 3 to 5/+ years of experience with an MBA/Masters would be preferred. Knowledge of / Certifications in Agile Framework, Project Management, PMP, Product Management, Change Management etc. would be an added advantage.
