Your Role and Responsibilities

AIX Admin providing day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support for the organization’s AIX-based systems and infrastructure. This role works closely with senior administrators and cross-functional teams to ensure the stability, performance, and security of the AIX environment… You will need to visit the domestic client’s offices / data centres on a daily basis or on an as-needed basis as part of this role.


Role and Responsibilities


  • AIX installation/Upgradation/Patch Management
  • NIM based installation and administration.
  • Hardware health checkup/Logs Collection
  • System Monitoring/Performance Monitoring/data collection.
  • Start/Stop, reboot OS as and when required.
  • LVM, File-System and NFS Management.
  • Storage Attachment and multi-pathing Configuration and User Administration.
  • OS Hardening as per Client/Audit Security policy.
  • Develop and maintain documentation about current environment setup, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
  • Schedule Jobs/cron and System backup and restores
  • BCP activities and Support.
  • PowerHA Installation/Configuration/Start/Stop/Administration
  • LPAR Creation and Administration.
  • VIO installation and configuration
  • Resource Management and DLPAR operations.
  • Trouble shooting any problem data collection.
  • Raise and track Service Requests with IBM/OEM.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise


  • 5 years and a minimum of 3 years’ experience on AIX system administration.
  • AIX administration, as given below, rather than “ticket” based administration experience.
  • Candidates on the L2 Category should have 2-3 years relevant experience.
  • Candidates should have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidates should be willing to work on 24×7 and on-call support during critical issues.
  • Candidates should have eagerness to learn new technologies and skills.
  • He / She should be hardworking with strong work ethics and discipline.
  • All the Candidates should have any of the following educational qualifications.
  • 3 Years regular Diploma from a recognized technical institution
  • BCA/BSc IT/BSc Computer Science / BE./ B.Tech Graduation
