Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a Program Manager to join our Program Management team to lead an initiative for “reimagining engineering” for FactoryTalk MES. You will be lead a large enterprise wide initiative with the ability to combine thoughts and ideas from multiple team members and drive toward a collective goal. This initiative will bring together people, process, and technology to align software development and product launches of the core engineering teams with those of the lifecycle services team to ensure customers get the maximum value from Rockwell Automation’s FactoryTalk MES suite.
You will manage a large initiative involving product engineering teams, lifecycle services engineering teams, and other teams. You have a clear understanding of the constraints Scope, Schedule, Budget/Resources and ability to manage issues to resolution and mitigate risks with contingency planning and anticipating issues. Guide process planning, program kickoffs, governance, timeline management, scope management with trade-offs, governance, Indicator reporting, risk mitigation, and communicating status to partners.

- Lead successful meetings with clear agendas and outcomes documented.
- Resolve issues by identifying main doers and decision makers.
- Risk mitigation driver by building contingency or persistently ensuring success of workstreams
- Work with Engineering Leads in addressing solution needs and making improvements with their deployments.
- Work with the initiative owner to identify the main results and resolve any issues that may arise in achieving those results.
- Identify opportunities where we can do better in our delivery of product (process, tools, technology) to increase team’s overall impact.
- Maintain working relationships with partners across engineering, sales, customer care services and partner teams.
- Mentor others in coordinating work.
- Promote and reach beyond existing solutions and technologies to incorporate new ideas.
Your Competencies
- Working Knowledge of software development lifecycle methodologies, such as Agile methodologies like SAFe, Scrum, XP or Kanban
- Customer empathy expressed in daily advocacy of the customer experience
- Organize and lead/influence teams without direct reporting relationships
- Manage through uncertainty and ambiguity
- That has the ability to tailor the message to the audience from executives to engineering teams
- Comfortable navigating and working within strong teams and matrixed team environments
- Experience with ranging from conceptualization to implementation
- Analyze data, make recommendations, and communicate information
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Manage customer our results through an engineering team.
- Experience with delivering a quality product and solution to customers
- 7+ years of Program Management
- 2+ years Cloud software industry desired experience
- PMP or equivalent desired but not required
- You will report to Senior Manager
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Safe Agile Certification
- Manufacturing/Industrial Automation Background
- Experience with technology, such as APIs, services, Platform, cloud (AWS, Azure), etc. combined with a a deep experience with the customer experience and demonstrated experience facilitating large cross-group teams to provide solutions. Experience with traditional SDLC and agile methodologies toolsets such as Atlassian Jira/Confluence not required but desired.
