Airframe - Advanced Numerical Simulations
The Advanced Numerical Simulation team is a part of the ‘Structural Analysis’ group in the Structures department and plays a key role across the lifecycle (Design, Certification and Inservice) of current and future aircraft programmes by developing and deploying state of the art and credible advanced numerical structural simulations.
Job scope (core activities):
Perform literature survey on process induced deformation in composite curing process.
Implement solutions within the established framework using Abaqus/Analytical methods.
Create parametric models for simulation and automate end to end processes.
Perform design of experiment studies to quantify the influence of process parameters.
Perform literature survey on the potential use of Machine learning models in curing simulation.
Create a dataframe from the solution field of above simulations for training a regression model.
Comparison of machine learning model results with that obtained from simulation.
Required Domain Expertise:
Strong engineering fundamentals including knowledge of structural design and engineering mechanics of composite and metallic materials.
Finite element method / finite element analysis using ABAQUS.
Good programming skills in python.
Machine learning model development and deployment.
