Honeywell Thermal Solutions is seeking an Sr Embedded Software Engineer to support our work developing burner management and control systems. You will work under limited supervision and alongside some of the world's most talented engineers. You will contribute to the development of Honeywell's next generation product by designing, testing and validating products/processes from prototype to market. You will be part of a group of highly committed professionals who provide expertise to ensure the success of complex engineering projects and programs. You will interact with internal and external customers to facilitate the completion of products to customer specifications.

JOB POSTING

Work with global team to develop end user real-time embedded firmware for burner management systems. You will create project and technical reports as required and help define product architecture as needed. You will participate in schematic/layout review process and test and evaluate prototypes from initial engineering samples to mass production. You will help maintain firmware servers and develop tools for internal use, including scripts and basic hardware interfaces. Aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the needs of Honeywell's customers. You will act as the lead technical liaison to the sales team.

Responsibilities: 

·Development of embedded software, including design, implementation, bug-fixing, documentation and validation for embedded system.

·Provide technical leadership to the team

·Follow well defined software development process for coding & design documentation

·Develop and test well-structured source code

·Performs design reviews

·Troubleshooting and fix all related issues on new development product

·Writes technical reports on results and conclusions drawn from experiments conducted and incorporates findings in formal specifications.

·Translates regulatory agency requirements into product designs by coordinating the activities of engineering, quality, manufacturing, and related organizations

·Participates in establishing operating procedures on new products and components.

·Interacts with customers, design agency and/or supplier counterparts to resolve moderate to complex design, development, production and acceptance issues.

• Evaluates and implements innovations and technological advances that improve quality, reduce flowtime, improve productivity, and enhance operational surety.

·Interprets customer functional expectations and defines product requirements for future development activities

·Identifies product requirement or performance issues, works with program manager and design team to negotiate resolution

·Provides technical support and guidance for the resolution of various customer and interdepartmental needs on an as required basis

·Contribute to budget and resource planning

·May perform other duties as required.

Required Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent;

2. 9+ years embedded product development.

3. Experience in leading small design teams;

Required Skills:

·Hands-on knowledge in Embedded FW using C, C++ on Embedded Linux OS.

·Knowledge on device drivers and low level firmware .

·Experience in working in Microprocessor based

·9+ years of experience in SW& FW application development using C, C++ and Linux.

·Highly skilled in analyzing and trouble shooting 

·Ability to work independently as well as in a team within time constraints and under minimum supervision

·Good working knowledge operating System and internals

·Experience with Cloud (Azure/AWS) enabled application development is plus

·Experience with cross platform enabled application development is plus

Additional Qualifications

·Knowledge of combustion technology

·Deep understanding of software engineering standards and specifications

·Basic electronics engineering skills to assist in embedded firmware development and debugging

·Familiar with embedded firmware programming techniques and industrial communication protocols such as Profibus and Modbus
