A Day in the LifeOur Global Diabetes Capability Center in Pune is expanding to serve more people living with diabetes globally. Our state-of-the-art facility is dedicated to transforming diabetes management through innovative solutions and technologies that reduce the burden of living with diabetes.
As the Accounts Manager, you will be an integral member of the Diabetes Finance team in India and a partner to the finance leadership team, business leaders, and the global finance function. You will provide leadership and expertise in accounting, taxation, and finance activities associated with complex matters, including revenue recognition, revenue-related accruals, and technical accounting. You will build relationships at all levels of the organization, and the ability to effectively communicate complicated concepts to drive business strategies in an easy-to-understand manner will be critical to success in this role. You will help direct all aspects of financial accounting, controls, processes, and financial reporting to meet business objectives and play a key role in creating efficiencies and leading process improvement initiatives. This position reports directly to the India Finance Director. Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:


  • Support internal and external financial reporting/close processes, planning, analysis, and accounting activity for the India operations.


  • Maintain a healthy balance sheet and report variance analysis.


  • Oversee and maintain control of accounts and records in areas such as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.


  • Compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy. Deliver accurate and clear financial results and comparisons at period end.


  • Prepare balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statements, and consolidate financial statements and other accounting schedules and reports.


  • Design, modify, install, and maintain accounting systems to ensure adequate recognition of financial transactions.


  • Oversee technical accounting research for complex business transactions and implementation of new accounting standards as needed.


  • Support the implementation, adherence, communication, and maintenance of internal control, accounting, and auditing procedures, policies, and practices to ensure proper custody of corporate assets as well as sound, accurate, and timely financial reporting.


  • Ensure that the organization's financial activities follow corporate policies, good accounting practices, procedures, and regulations established by federal and local laws, specifically India Accounting Standards, US GAAP, and India Taxation.


  • Ensure Statutory compliances – Tax return filings – Tax deposits- Tax refunds


  • Process optimizations


  • Analyze financial statements (P&L/Balance Sheet) and reconcile accounts for accuracy and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.


  • Complete other ad-hoc and standard reporting processes as necessary.


  Required Knowledge and Experience:


  • Chartered Accountant with 10 to 12 years of experience in finance/accounting with reputed Multinationals


  • Various kind of Audit- Statutory, Corporate, Internal audit


  • Proficient in India Accounting Standards, Indian Taxation, and US GAAP


  • Prepares monthly balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.


  • Experience with financial automation tools, emerging financial technologies, and financial/reporting systems (e.g., SAP, Hyperion, Essbase, Power BI, etc.)


  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within a fast-paced, matrix organization


  • Strong customer focus and ability to understand and meet the needs of internal and external stakeholders


  • Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights


  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide, train, and develop people


  • Experience in managing financial projects and initiatives
